Plus, stats can be changed easily at any time in the home instance. It's by far my favorite "easy / cheap" ascended weapon.

Extremely easy! 20 minutes if you have all the waypoints & finished hot

Issue with caladbolg is that it for some fucking reason has less sigil slots then weapons usually do. So if u care about dmg/optimazitation that could be annoying

​@@slashersoul2380 Fair point, tho I'd say usually by the time you can afford to care about optimization on a serious level, you'd have the materials to craft an ascended weapon or would have gotten an ascended weapon via rewards or achievements. There's actually another really easy to get ascended weapon of any choice with any stats which is obtained by completing Tier 1 of the Seasons of the Dragons achievement.

While I agree with you, there is quite a number of achiev that leads to ascended and rare items, my personal problem is that they ain't much intuitive, usually the description of ONE of the 14 steps is something like "tip: there is a monster of interest somewhere on heart of maguma", like what the fuck, you then later discover that the monster is invisible, and you should kill the monster, on a very specific point of a very specific map, within 30s without being hit, on an specific event, that needs 40 players, while having 200% participation of the meta event, tier 3, while having an specific item on the bag... Then congratulations, you got one step done, out of 14... While yeah, challenge is nice, at least make it clear what challenge I have to go through, also, they should add a window just for equipment quests, would be easier to choose what to do

Jep my only complaint as well, recently got back in the game i'm a GW2 player that started playing GW2 fro mthe beginning of release when it was not free to play, some of these mechanics or way's to get precursors or now ascended kinda tilted me out of the game, maybe WoW was not the answer you have to farm a boss 200 times for somethin , but hell it can at least be a option to have Boss loot in the game over just doin tedious tasks with 20 steps or having some elaborate 4 page manual of you gathering materials and the forge , i really wish there was story related and event related and boss related loot drops as well, and yes they probably then might be more comon then what it is now, but i think theres allot more players like me and you guy's who are really turned of by this ... same with the mounts btw, specially flying mounts , but megh .. i'm having fun right now being back in the game once again finally replaying some of the old exapsions missions i missed and living world plus End of Dragons, it's pretty good )

I wish those weapons had better stat selection options, I think I've only had one so far with the prefix I wanted.

You can stat swap the weapons relatively cheaply in the mystic forge

If you need a greatsword, sword, dagger, scepter or shield, then you can do the Knight of the Thorn side quest once you've finished the Heart of Thorns story, to get an ascended weapon within the Caladbolg set. The first weapon for your account is basically free, but additional weapons will require around 20 gold worth of materials to craft some items that are given to you for your first weapon for your account, and you'll need to complete the Knight of the Thorn side quest on another character. Once you've obtained a weapon, you can take it to an NPC in your home instance to change it into a different type of weapon, for 1000 unbound magic. If you need other types of weapons, then the easiest would probably be collections.

4 easy ascended backpacks: basically, complete Path of Fire main story 3 times, siding with a) Sunspears, b) Mordant Crescent, c) Free People of Amnoon. Completing each path will yield an ascended backpack; complete all 3 and you'll get the 4th backpack. The achievement is called "Raise the Banners: Amnoon Arbitrator".

@@CommonTate but you had to do that same thing for return to dragon achievements.

I guess I base that opinion on crafting. An entire set of armor only requires 1 max lvl crafting discipline. Depending on your build, you may need to level multiple weapon disciplines to 500. This video is mostly for new players without a ton of masteries, crafting, or elite specs unlocked.

That is easy, but you have to complete all of Heart of Thorns before you can do that, right? I was shooting more for ease of access with this one.

@@CommonTate yes there's one playthrough of the heart of thorns story required. If that's done, you'll be able to get the sword repaired in like one hour and you can choose between different weapons (like if you want it to become a great sword, dagger, shield, axe etc) and of course with the stats selectable as you want it to.

If you don’t have a crafter you can literally brute force 500 for like ~50g in most crafts, took me 30 minutes to go 0-500 with 40 gold a month or so back so I could start crafting ascended

of course its not. f2p have so many restrictions and only have core tyria access. its only intended for trying the game.

@@bingtotgaming crazy to think before the expansions came out, this is how everyone played. They could have at least let us use trading post. (I know it's to cut down on gold sellers, but when your account is verified and linked to GW1, that should count for something)

@@bingtotgaming how? You have to buy GW1 AND the EotN expansion in order to connect your account. Which costs about the same as buying the PoF/HoT expansion. Not to mention GW1 players have already been to Istan and Kaineng, so stripping them of that in GW2 was kinda lame. I'm not saying we should get EVERYTHING for free, you could still put mounts/gliders/masteries even the Living Worlds stuff behind the paywall, but the trading post and SUPER limited inventory/storage when people have already payed real money for more storage in GW1 is lame. Especially when they fill your storage with skins and minis from Eye of the North for connecting your accounts.

@@virtuousheathen981 I don't get your point. gw2. is not an expansion or an update in gw1. its a completely separate game. it doesnt matter what expansion you buy in gw1 or how big you spent there, youre not playing the same game. it doesnt give you special treatment just because you played the gw1. nobody does that.
