Here's the EASIEST mens basic bodice pattern. Pattern a bodice making is stupidly complicated and for the mens of the world. We don't have as much resources as I'd like. This bodice will be the easiest way I've figured out to make it. It's animated, it's colour coded... just... just try it ok. Trust me. I'm as dumb as they come so if it works for me? We're laughing.

Oh my god, where have you been for the last year as I've been pouring over old or complicated pattern making tutorials. Finally someone made this easier. I've read so many ways to do this and never got it exactly right. The animated illustrations were a really nice touch. Love how you show how to angle the french curve (which is what I most struggle with). I've love to see one for basic sleeves. Great video, my guy. Keep it up! Subscribed!

Thank you for this! I also bought a pattern making book and the instructions are just so complicated. You toned it down, no excessive info. I also want to do more casual wear and all the books I find are so focused on elegant wear, it's very annoying when you don't actually have anywhere to go with a super haute couture garment haha. Plus, I also really want to make men's wear and a lot of the tutorial on the internet are for women. My guess is that they are not that different, but still, it's good to see material specific to men. Thank you so much! I'll suscribe waiting for more. :)

@@BeauWilder I don't, but in trying to make a block or sloper I tried to use the process designed for women. It doesn't really work as men are, as you say, "meat slabs." Drafting a bodice and arm pattern is difficult, if you lack knowledge of how important it is to take correct measurements at certain points of the body and drafting the measurements correctly onto the pattern. There are some standards measurements that work great for a baseline. Neck hole and shoulder slopes. NH 3/4 “x 3” for the back, 3” x 3” for the front. Rounded neckline. Shoulder slope. 2” is the average, slope. Great video. It definitely gave a great beginning of understanding the pattering and measurements involved. Have you made a video about drafting a sleeve ? I just came across your channel. I’m trying to construct an old fashioned barn coat. I’ve drafted many patterns for shirts, pull overs, shorts and pants. However, I’m sure about the amount of ease. Thank you for sharing, keep up the great work. Best regards !
