This is one of Grandma's favorite dishes. She would eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner whenever possible. The recipe brings back #nostalgic memories. Enjoy the free recipe. #RicePudding for the win! 👇
1 1/2 cup of long grain rice
5 cups whole milk
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
3 cups water
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp or tbls vanilla and butter extract, cinnamon,
Optional* 1/2 tsp nutmeg
First, boil rice in a pot until tender, and water evaporates. Then, add milk, sweetened condensed milk, and cook for 10 to 15 minutes. Follow with sugar for an additional 5 to 10 minutes. Next, incorporate eggs by warming them with a portion of the rice mix (as seen in the video). Beat the eggs and gradually add them to the pot, stirring constantly to prevent scrambling. Introduce vanilla, butter extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cook and stir for 3 to 5 minutes. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish. Optionally, top with cinnamon. Let it sit for 2 hours. If you enjoy it cold, let it sit for the 2 hours and then refrigerate for an hour or more. The rest is history. #easyrecipe #3Ingredients #dessert #cooking #subscribe #follow #cooks #baking

YUM, my granny made this every weekend for all of us. She would put raisins in it and she would also make a big pitcher of cold creme anglaise (we just called it vanilla sauce) that she would pour over our slices of warm rice pudding.

I made it because it looked so yummy and boy what a sugar rush I got from it and my husband sprinkled the cinnamon on the finished product and when I say sprinkled I really meant poured it , can’t wait to have a small bowl of it. Thanks I love watching you cook because of your sense of humor about the castaway and Tom Hanks that’s cute and just saying how you used to cook with your grandmother I mean is she still alive or do you just have memories of her like I do? can’t wait to try something else now do you do homemade applesauce?

@@bwoodcooks hmm, ah, ok- thanks. I’ll try to redo it… I wonder what I did wrong? So weird - everyone in the comments has had it come out perfectly- and you explained it so perfectly… Honestly don’t know what I messed up. I’m tempted to use a stick blender - it just came out so incredibly wrong 😑 Should probably just pitch this and completely start over again. I’ll follow it step by step this time… maybe having too many similar recipes open at once threw me off and I accidentally incorporated a step from another recipe, lol
