Ruby from Pedego Qualicum Beach shows how easy it is to load an electric bicyicle onto a Thule Easy Fold bike rack using the removable ramp that comes with it.

I think this is the Thule bike carrier with a removable ramp. Finally, no more lifting of heavy electric bikes! Hep hep hooray! I ordered this & I am excited to use it, take my bike to the beach.

Great how-to video. It's hard to tell if she removed the battery. My rack & Pedego are new & I've only used them once. When I rolled the bike up the ramp, I didn't realize my right hand had slipped over to the throttle. The bike took off like a rocket ship & came down & dented the back of my car. 🥵 I've since realized I should have turned the battery off, but I actually am going to remove the entire battery before loading onto the rack to make the bike 8+ pounds lighter.

The only bad thing about this design is that if she rolled the bike to the left any further there would be a catastrophic fall! Note how she has to carefully hold and balance the bike while at the same time getting the clamp ready. There needs to be an adjustable bumper or something to stop the bike from rolling further. Other than that, this woman clearly demonstrated how much easier the Thule design is than the other racks that uses cups that force the user to lift the heavy ebike.

The ramp is also short, about 36" and because of that, it makes the angle a bit steep. It works, but the ramp should be longer and also a bit wider for fatter tires.

Yeah the ramp should be longer and the rack could be much lower

Now show us the loading of a 2nd bike. That's when things get hairy! The Thule rack is way to narrow and the handlebars get in the way and various bike parts can touch each other. Seems like they gave more consideration to the compactness of a folded rack for storage than actual usability for big and heavy ebikes 😕

Someone told me that hot exhaust gases from tailpipe can cause melting of carrier body and wheel straps ??? Anyone had this issue as I love video and design of Thule 3 bike rack but this is Melting rumour ! Is holding me back from purchase, I drive a vw tiquan any advice would be appreciated

I have had no problems with melting. The ramp is pretty flimsy and is not long enough for high driveway loading. If you are loading 2 bikes it just as easy to have 2 people lift it up. It attaches and detaches easily. Overall a good ramp.
