take 2 link skewers and some zip ties… sandwich the plant between the skewers and then set it along the back of the tank
@GenXHeart4 ай бұрын
That's a great idea for my monstera! Thank you! I've been taking a bundle of baby spider plants with a tiny black hair elastic then make a "s hook" out of coated wire and hang it off the back but it wasn't enough support for a larger plant.

I love my Poth-o-Carrys. I have the original model that does not have the bar that slides out, which made it tricky to remove mature plants. I am thrilled to see that they've made improvements over the years to the original design. Definitely worth it!

So cool, I definitely need to order myself some. I have a couple “hanging” baskets for my tank already that I have completely submerged to keep my Java fern and anubias out of the water column (super helpful while I’m trying to move away from fake hides in my tank for a natural look) but I found that they are too big to fit through the removable plastic part of the lid and get in the way of the glass. This solves my issue and gives me a way to give my houseplants even more space and to even experiment with putting spring bulbs in so I can have some pretty blooms this winter ☺️

Does this work for only aquatic plants that can be half submerged? Because if that’s the case then I’ve been doing this with the Fluval Breeder box. The one that has air pump hookups, but I always “hot rod” the breeder boxes by either attaching an airstone in the uptake tube, or I lose the air all together and attach a tiny pump to the intake of the breeder box. The choice is yours. ❤

You don’t want to have the green part of the stems down in the water all of that lucky bamboo is just going to eventually rot. The same goes for any other plant have the roots down in the water but not the base of the stems.
@samcresp5440 Жыл бұрын
I don’t know about the lucky bamboo, but pothos is definitely fine. You actually often submerge the stem to reach the node on the stem/cutting for roots to grow. Rot isn’t the saturation in water, it’s the smothering of oxygen! As long as the water is oxygenated and has adequate nutrients, it’s fine. I’ve left cuttings stem and nodes submerged for weeks, months even and it’s always been fine, just in glasses of water, no nutrients or bubbler. They do get a bit funky though in non-aquarium setups if not potted up after a while
