'Getting the Call' - summer salmon fishing on the River Mourne

When out fishing the most memorable days are often those spent in good company, the craic and banter and even a few fish makes for a great day on the riverbank. This was one such occasion from last summer when Chris Adams and myself spent an afternoon chasing salmon on the River Mourne. As you'll see when I 'got the call' I had an interesting trek to help Chris land his fish, but isn't that half the fun!
'Behind the Scenes' this time looks at pinch points and a few tips for safe wading.

What's Mourne run like last year counter figures are average? But not sure I trust that

I don’t think it was great but then again it was hard to tell as conditions for much of the season weren’t good with long spells of drought. There seemed to be short bursts of runs when we did get water, but nothing sustained.
