I have been to that incredible location at 7:13-7:43 -- it is a former US military base used during WW2. After it was abandoned, the US promised to clean it up but never returned, leaving what you see here plus lots more not shown; a giant furnace, a crane, a collapsed garage with more trucks inside, and hundreds more barrels than you can see here.

Hello, I love your videos, it's really splendid. I heard about you with Jeff whom we met in 2019 in Saqqaq. You visited Jeff on his little island and he told us about you. We were kayaking in 2019 and 2022 in Disko Bay and we will be going in 2023 around Tasiilaq for a month, again with our inflatable kayak. We are interested in your trekking experience there. Have you encountered polar bears and what precautions have you taken to protect yourself from them? Thanking you very much for your answer and congratulations again for your videos, I'm a fan!
@ViktorPosnov
@ViktorPosnov Жыл бұрын
I do not stumbled upon a bear, however there have been evidence of at least one in Sermilik fjord while I was there. I had something like a pen that can shoot fireworks to scare them away, which I ve got at Svalbard. But probably would be a better idea to have a firearm, bears are way more common in that area compared to Disko bay. Talking about me, I would not repeat this trip without firearm.

Up for over a year and only 5,000 views? That's quite disturbing. This production is beyond mind blowing, sat hooked all the way, higher quality photographically than anything I have ever seen cabled out on National Geographic. Talk about hidden undiscovered gem. I totally appreciate. A couple of questions for you, 1. How did you get up on the ridge at ca 1:40, are you a professional climber as well or is it easier than it looks? 2. Did you carry any type of polar bear protection like a rifle? I have seen a couple of videos where people have had distant and close encounters with polar bears around the Ittoqqortormiit area. Seems like a great hike with everything. Intense colors, arctic remoteness, isolation. And Packrafting!
