A tribute to Snowman, The Bandit, and his kick ass car. Rest in peace to Jerry Reed, a great musician and a fine actor as well.

This movie fortunately for us fans, but unfortunately to critics made Burt (RIP) look like some 'shlockly' cartoon character, but critically his best work was definitely 'Deliverance' and I liked the one where he deals in Moonshine, and of course the 'Longest Yard.'

The USA feels like another country today. Back in 77 folks from all walks of life watched and LOVED this movie, including an 11 me who with all of my friends spend days in school goofing with each other, saying so may of the movies catchy lines... BTW, it was made for less than $4.5 million, and took in $126 million just from box office!!! America was never perfect by any stretch, but I bet like me a lot of you would love to have the vibe of this era again.

Actually it wasn't fun. They had a ridiculously low budget and short time period to get it finished. There was at least one near fatal incident involving the scene where the cars go through the area where the children are playing. The retakes made for crazy long days. The actors were suffering from lack of sleep and low quality eating. Lots of the script was just stupid stuff thrown in for cheap laughs. The beer warehouse forklift stuff for example. Dumb and added little to the plot. The actors tired of dealing with crap like that.

Its one of the greatest movies of all time! Im only 22 and i absolutely LOVE Smokey and the Bandit ive seen all 3 multiple times though the first one is by far the best one of the 3 Bandit and the Duke boys got me into cars most kids my age are into them honda 4 bangers not me i love the old school V8 rear wheel drive land yachts like the General Lee! Im from Houston ive been to the Houston auto show multiple times ive seen some incredible cars up close like a Bugatti ive sat in a few Lambos and Ferraris but to me those are a rich man's toy them ain't cars ain't nothin like the roar of an American big block v8! The 60s and early 70s were the best years for the car industry imo my absolute dream car is a hot pink 59 Cadillac Eldorado convertible one of the most beautiful if not the most beautiful car ever built!

Spot on. That look encapsulated everything great about the movie. This movie was silly and a little stupid but it was so much fun. Mostly because of Burt Reynolds (admittedly with ample help from Jackie Gleason). But Burt Reynolds’s sly charm let you know he was in on the joke, that it was ok to just kick back and enjoy this dumb little movie for the romp stomping good time that it was.

When this movie came out in 1977, I saw it in the theater at least 6 times inside a month. About the 4th or 5th time I saw it, there was a retired couple sitting in the row behind me and about 7 or 8 seats to my right. I got more laughs watching this couple laugh at the is movie than I did the movie itself that night. It was hysterical just watching those two.

One of the best movies ever. Here in Germany it's called 'Ein ausgekochtes Schlitzohr' which means something like 'A crafty rascal'. The Movie is now iconic for its excesses as well as it's Devil-may-care insouciance that just drips off Reynolds. But he screwed up. He had the flying Nun in his lap and couldn't pull the trigger, to his later regret. You don't EVER let the right girl just walk. NEVER. You can spend the rest of you life watching her make someone happier than you'll ever be again if you're not careful.
