These were the days when the show had good writers who understood characters like Dot Cotton, who was a waspish, interfering arch gossip of the launderette, the latter years Dot Cotton had no gossip at all, despite the fact the character had several layers, a bible thumper, menthol chain smoking, hypochondriac and a gossip.

This was great back then. Now it's just utter rubbish. I haven't watched Eastenders since about 2012.

I think the rot had well set in around 2004. That was probably the programme's worst hour.

In real life, I saw her, the actress who played Rachel, she on the Victoria line few years back, she was sitting opposite me and she got off at Highbury and Islington, 😃😃, I miss June and Wendy, 😢😢, R.I.P 😢😢
