Yeah, I always thought Lindsey Coulson and Michael French had fantastic chemistry. You could tell that they played the dynamic from the very beginning as two people who always deeply loved each other but there were so many obstacles constantly in their way throughout the years.

Same to me as a naive 10 year old from zone 6 he was a big scary black fella with a deep voice like frank bruno. Totally disagree, 'love thy neighbour' wasnt politically correct , but was still rubbish. What destroyed eastenders was the inferior writers and producers they bought in. Any drama is only as good as its characters and storylines and that is down to the writers and producers.

It was actually confirmed many times that Carol spoke so bitterly about David because he was the true love of her life and she never got over him leaving when she was pregnant. She knew he was forced to leave by her brothers who were violent towards him, but she convinced herself that David never cared. Also, she's worried that Alan will be hurt if she speaks well of David.
