Shirley was actually out of line here phil didn't deserve another chance he'd already been given far far more than Ben had been given and this version of Ben was actually trying to turn his life around and be a better person unlike phil so the comparison isn't fair at all phil's already been given second chances and third chances and fourth chances etc etc. yet he still refused to even try and fight his addiction any longer there comes a point where you have to stop giving second chances and cut the toxic cunt out of your life for your own health and phil was deffo beyond that point during this period in the show.
