0:01 if you look very closely you can see the character "Link" it's a very popular reference to the game "the legend of Zelda"

Had to go back to Link's Awakening and Link's Awakening DX, but those first two name easter eggs are exclusive to the Switch; Totakeke is impossible to input as the Gameboy versions only supported 5-character names, and Marin, unfortunately, doesn't change the save select music. Zelda, on the other hand, I think it's neat that they kept it in there! I remember finding that out by complete accident on the original Gameboy lol. Edit: Interesting note about the Zelda name easter egg, on the Gameboy versions, you had to enter it in all caps to get it to work; I just tried it normally capitalized, and it doesn't work. Interesting.

Great video! I guess now I can tell why I never clicked with links awakening, it feels so weird and out of place having so much lip service given to Mario games, when Zelda games have always been a bit more... mystical-feeling? Dunno lol

There is a refrence in the color dungeon its the music you hear in backround and its a refrence to the nes version of legend of zelda not the old links awakening but you will reconize the music

An interesting one that a lot of people don't seem to notice is that Marin seems to follow the traditional Hawaiian custom of putting a flower in your hair on either the right or left side to indicate whether or not you're in a relationship. Marin's is on the left in her hair, so that means she's taken. The only question is... by who? - Nev

FUN EASTER EGG If you look closely, the character you play as wears green clothes. This is a subtle nod to the Legend of Zelda series, where the main character also wears green.
