The EastIdahoNews.com team is busy helping a local Secret Santa give $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho this holiday season. Every day, from now until Christmas, we will post videos of the recipients being surprised with these life-changing gifts.
Annette is 69 years old and works in the kitchen at an elementary school in Sugar City. Her husband died suddenly about 16 years ago and he was the breadwinner teaching high school.
Annette was diagnosed with cancer around 18 months ago, had surgery and is now trying to keep it at bay. She is a very kind and humble person, is extremely frugal (she doesn’t even own a cell phone) and never asks for help from anyone.
Annette’s current vehicle was purchased for her about nine years ago by some Good Samaritan neighbors. It’s starting to have expensive mechanical issues and she could never afford to purchase another.
Secret Santa learned about Annette and asked the East Idaho News elves to give her a big surprise. We ran into some obstacles trying to track her down but finally found Annette. Watch the surprise in the video player above!

She works at a school, the staff don't get paid much to be honest...so that $1,000 would have gone a long, long way for her most likely just by itself...the car was a huge help for her too.

@@emmajp_9385 Since all the fees on the vehicle are paid, and taxes paid, she should have enough for a tank or a couple tanks of gas LOL. Where I live registration is a couple hundred bucks at most. Insurance shouldn't be too bad but that has a lot of hidden factors to know for certain, but I only pay $1200 a year for insurance on 3 vehicles 2 of them with full coverage.

i even live in Germany (Munich) and am waiting every year for the Idaho News Secret Santa videos to watch them.....gets me more into the Christmas spirit than anything. Cant even remember how the KZfaq alogarhythm first got me to the 1st one, and then i went down the bingewatch rabbit hole.......🙂

Mary: Depression is easy to overcome by adopting lifestyle changes. Here's a recipe that may work: exercise daily, be productive every day, hone a skill regularly, eliminate harmful relationships, perform philanthropic acts weekly, do not use drugs or alcohol, and get sufficient sleep at night.

omg im from ottawa too but these videos are so heart warming i wish we had something like that here, my bestfriends dad actually makes like a bunchhhhh of backpacks for the homeless filled with anything they might need and whatever and hes been doing that for at least 8 years now or something but i wish they’re was a show where we could see them giving it to the homeless especially since we have so many

My fourth year to come back and watch the East Idaho News Christmas special!! With the onslaught of negativity n hatred in our nation, this program feels like when the sun is starting to come up and spreads it’s light and warmth into every nook n cranny. The darkness has to recede, even if just for a little bit. Thank you so much for sharing your joy with us…blessings to all the worthy recipients of these gifts. My heart is full this morning.
