I have to admit to having little clue or preconception when it came to Eastman Guitars. I hadn't tried or even seen one until last week. Now I'm completely smitten. I've tried the SB59/v and now this amazing T64 from their Thinline series. To say it's built well would be an understatement. And then there's the tones. Wow. Having watched a few KZfaq videos of others presenting these guitars since, I can concur with the almost cliche sentiment of "Custom Shop Quality" at considerably less expense. These are classy guitars at ANY price. And I'm completely sold.

I only discovered P90's for myself about 4 years ago and now have 3 guitars with them. They break up in such a pleasing way.

I'm glad that Eastman is sending you some guitars to check out. Even eastmans entry level acoustic stuff is amazing for what it costs. They make really high end acoustics too that I want to pull the trigger on.

Womderful review, tone and playing! I own a Eastman T486, it is my favorite guitar, and I own two Gibson Custom shop Les Paul..(R7 and a R0).

If Eastman made an SG-style guitar with this level of build quality, I'd buy two of them. I've always avoided LP-style guitars because their upper fret access doesn't work for me.

Eastman is killing it!! I always wonder why people who make this exact style of guitar haven't changed the design to include a center block of wood to cut down on feedback when at stage level volumes. With vintage Casino's and ES-330's (I've got one!) I understand. They are what they are/were. But for new models, you'd think all these manufacturers would want to get rid of the feedback problem. Curious. Very very nice guitar nonetheless. Sounds sweet!

Eastman do make models with a centre block as well. The T386, T486 and T59/v to name a few. All great guitars by the way. I suppose the guitars like the one in this demo have their own style with a different sound that you can only get from a hollow body.

£1764 with a Bigsby here in the UK, I’d say that’s somewhat of a bargain considering the workmanship that’s gone into it! Of course them fingers are are helping, but still a great deal 😊

I have one of these with a Bigsby. It’s fabulous - the tone and playability top draw. Feedback can be problem live in a small venue but I mic amp and keep the stage volume down.

Hi Paul, does the guitar stay in tune with a bigsby. I ask because I am thinking of getting one of these but not sure to get it with a bigsy or not.

@@SteveTong22 I have no problems with mine with the Bigsby - keeps in tune fine. Restringing can be a bit of pain if you've never had a Bigsby before but plenty of good tutorials on KZfaq. Just have to be careful playing live as it is prone to feedback but its controllable (and fun to let off its leash too!)

No center block, fully hollow. There is a thin piece of wood glued where is mounted the bridge to support the string tension in that area. But no sound post or wood block like a Es335. The acoustic sound is pretty loud, not dreadnought like of course, but it can hold an lightly played acoustic guitar. Plugged it's a versatile beast. Jazz, roots, blues, rock, fusion.. It's a fantastic instrument. Recommend it with no limits.

I still don't 'get' the whole 'relic'd' concept. A fake pretense of using it? THAT is what a guitarist wants?!! I don't get it. I wish you'd have mentioned the neck-width and how that feels, and it looks like you need to use thumb & finger to put the switch into the middle position because the knob is too close to allow a single pinkie to fit under the switch and push or pull it by itself. It's easy to go from Position 1 to 3, but that middle position is the toughie without using thumb and finger, it appears.

I’m not a big fan of relic’d guitars either. I wouldn’t pay a ton of money to buy a ‘new’ guitar with all the nicks, dents, and scratches. The true benefits with many of those guitars is select woods and not as much lacquer allowing the guitar to resonate more. Even when not plugged in when you strum those electrics…acoustically they just sing and you feel it resonate against your body. But yeah, VOS finish or ultra light relic’ing only for me (if I had the money haha).
