The bodies of four unidentified individuals were found at Umpleng village in the East Jaintia Hills District of Meghalaya on July 6 morning. The bodies were discovered by labourers in a deserted area of the village and were tied together. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Umpleng Anti-Dacoity Camp of the Meghalaya Police.
East Jaintia Hills Superintendent of Police (SP) Giri Prasad informed EastMojo that the Crime Scene Unit from Shillong has been called in to investigate the scene. Following the inquiry, the bodies will be taken to Jowai Civil Hospital for post-mortem. Further details regarding the incident are still awaited.
