Eastonmade Wood Splitters

4 жыл бұрын

This is a video of a box wedge specific 22-28. A box wedge specific 22-28 has a pull back arm on it to retrieve the block of wood after it has been split. With this set up you are limited to a 4 way, 6 way or Box wedge. The 8 way and 12 way wedges aren't available with this configuration.
Let me know if you have any questions guys.

Andrew what a beast. This 22-28 with a box wedge is the machine. Add a conveyor to fill your trailer or bin and you're in heaven. I must say your time spent on producing quality KZfaq productions is appreciated and way ahead of your competitors and your machines are better both technically and mechanically. I'm down in New Zealand cutting 50 -75 cube a year with an old local engineering shop hand made thing. Would give a fair bit to get this machine, but the transport and tax means I'm going to be dreaming of winning the lottery before I get it. Its free gym membership tho, and I can dream of your 22-28. Keep up the good work, I'm sure you're selling these and the Axis look great as well.

You will find that this old retired engineer knows his trade..been designing stuff like that for 40 years..the difference between my work and yours is,my stuff went straight to the job,had to be perfect every time and last year's...you guys got a good product and looks good...now,to reap the max reward, design and build a custom stove to go with your product...make it outperform the competition..that's where it all headed in the future.wood heat is coming back fast..it's the only way to go..I have had it all at one time or another, and wood out does all the others.. people need a totally automatic stove to use.. there is you a challenge..good job..

Unless the pieces are round with no knots it won’t be the same size. And where it splits doesn’t mean that’s where it’s pushing threw the die. So you end with a lot of shake. I know I built mine and found it easier to just have a 4 way or 6 wedge

*I ordered the 22-28 with 6 way wedge and the additional 7 way box wedge. I was thinking of adding the 36 inch stroke to my order Instead of the 24 inch stroke. But I have some questions, that may also help other viewers as well when making this decision on a longer 36 Inch stroke. ANSWERS TO THESE QUESTIONS WILL HELP ME & MAYBE OTHERS, MAKE A BETTER DECISION OF WHICH STROKE LENGTH TO CHOOSE?* *QUESTION 1. By having the additional stroke length of 36", Does the 7 way box wedge still work? Or Does it have to have a special design to work In the longest stroke position where splitting very long wood? THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ME, BECAUSE I'M CURIOUS OF THE MAXIMUM LENGTH OF WOOD THAT CAN BE INSERTED TO SPLIT, WITH THE ADVERTISED 36" STROKE on a 22-28 AND 7 WAY BOX WEDGE INSTALLED, AND ALSO WITH THE 6 WAY WEDGE INSTALLED? *QUESTION 2. If adding 36" Stroke to a 22-28 option with the adjustable stroke stop, WHAT DOES THE CYCLE TIME DROP TO AT FULL, 36" STROKE COMPARED TO 24" STROKE, BOTH AT THEIR MAXIMUM RESPECTIVE LENGTHS?* *QUESTION 3. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN CYCLE TIME BETWEEN THE 36" & 24" on a 22-28 " IF YOU WERE TO SET THE 36" STROKE AT 24", COMPARED TO THE 24" STROKE? WOULD THEY BE THE SAME CYCLE SPEED IF 36" STROKE IS SET TO 24" TO MATCH THE STROKE LENGTHS OF THE 24" STANDARD STROKE MODELS?* IF NOT, WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN CYCLE TIMES, When they are both set to same Length stroke of 24"?* *QUESTION 4. IF THE 22-28 24" STROKE MODEL PUTS OUT 37 TONS OF FORCE, DOES THE 22-28 with 36" STROKE PUT OUT MORE FORCE? IF SO, WHAT TONNAGE?* *QUESTION 5. WHAT CAN I SAY IF YOU ARE ANSWERING THESE 22-28 QUESTIONS AND ARE NOW ON QUESTION 5? OTHER THAN, I APPRECIATE YOUR RESPONSES!* *QUESTION 6. DOES THE MODEL 22-28 I ORDERED WITH TH 6 WAY WEDGE, & THE ADDITIONAL 7 WAY BOX WEDGE ALSO ALLOW ME TO USE THE 8 WAY WEDGE AND 12 WAY WEDGES AS WELL?* *QUESTION 7. HOW MUCH MORE DOES THE SPLITTER WEIGH, WITH THE ADDITIONAL 36" STROKE INSTALLED ON A 22-28?* *QUESTION 8. WHAT IS THE WEIGHT OF EACH OF YOUR 7 WAY "BOX" WEDGE, 6 WAY WEDGE, 8 WAY WEDGE, 12 WAY WEDGE? FOR THE 22-28? I BELIEVE THEY ARE BUILT WITH THICKER METAL, IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY? SO WE KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN ATTEMPTING TO CHANGE THEM OUT?* *THANKS FOR ANY FEEDBACK TO HELP ME & POSSIBLY OTHERS AS WELL, MAKE A BETTER DECISION IF STEPPING UP TO A 36" STROKE IS RIGHT FOR THE APPLICATIONS INTENDED FOR EACH PERSON!* *BETTER TO ASK QUESTIONS NOW, THAN TO REGRET & ONLY WISH YOU DID LATER ON? FOR SUCH A FINE PIECE OF MACHINERY IN THE ENTIRE WOOD SPLITTN' BUSINESS!* IDK? IF THESE ARE FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS, BUT IF I SAVED SOMEONE FROM WASTING YOUR PRECIOUS TIME, SO YOU CAN PUT MORE OF IT TOWARDS THESE BACK ORDERS, THEN THESE QUESTIONS ARE WORTH THEIR WEIGHT IN GOLD! LOL... THANKS FOR YOUR TIME, THEY ARE (MOST DEFINITELY STILL WORTH THE WAIT TIMES). HAVE A NICE DAY EVERYONE.*

Depends on your market for customer preference. I find more and more people want the smaller square piece for camp fires and restaurant wood. This wood typically brings a lot more money per cord. It saves a ton of labour running the box wedge in larger rounds. In bigger rounds you will have less scrap off of this than a 6 way and more usable pieces. Hope this helps.
