Good Evening this Super Bowl day. I like football but I got to tell you the ads and the half time circus don’t attract me at all. So, I put on the head phones and went to KZfaq to watch anything related to Eastonmade Axis. I taped in on learning the loss of one of your faithful associates. I too share your sentiments to the gentleman’s family as well as to your employees who partnered with him. I liked the point you made that “the Lord had need of him”. I assume it was sudden death, sudden Glory. Went on to watch your new addition of an Axis powered by electric. My wood yard happens to not be near electric hook up unless I had a generator for power. My interest will continue to be in purchasing a fuel powered engine Axis with conveyor. I am so anxious to place an order but I need to replace a boiler from oil to propane. I happen to have a Heatmore Outdoor Wood Burning Furnace to heat my home and domestic water for hot water. I have used it exclusively for 15 years. I just turned 87 and feel I need to not depend on the good health the Lord has given me any longer. I also feel EPA might step in and condemn my ways of providing home heating. I do conduct a small firewood bundling enterprise. Been doing this for the past 7 years. I will continue to offer bundled firewood specifically for those who can’t handle even a face cord. They drive up, pick up, pay up and they are on their way home satisfied bc they get more burn for their buck in my bundle. I over size a .75 cu. ft bundle by a couple of pieces. But, I need to buy an Axis. Less touches, less bending and faster over all operation. I will be making a contact when this boiler is in place. Thanks for all the information available on the Axis. Beautiful piece of mechanical advantage. Dave Urner

I commend you on your consoling words for the loss of a dear one. Most of us have suffered from "the enemy death" when losing friends or family. There is no easy way to explain and alleviate the loss and confusion resulting from death. Ministers, priests and holy men have tried to do this for 1000's of years, but the "sting of death" remains. This is why eulogies are so important.

We met chuck at the Paul Bunyan show this past fall. He sure had a fancy camera set up. Electric is awesome. It’s a Quiet, odorless, tasteless? and gas-less. Splitter. Lol. 3phase is super expensive to get off the pole here. The power company hoards it. Lol

Andrew, nice to hear your kind words. I did notice that while you were splitting , you had no ear protection. I don’t know if it was your microphone, but I had to turn my device volume down because it was so noisy. I am assuming that the electric version is quieter than the gas model. If so, it should be a selling point. Good luck. I have an Ultra on order and are excited about seeing it. Watching“In the Woodyard” was the reason for purchasing.

The electric may be ok for a limited group of people that have 3 phase & want to take the wood mess inside of a their building . For me & I believe most others gas / diesel is much more useable in real life applications where we split outdoors away from the barn .

It's a lot less noise but I'm wondering what's making the noise it still has. Almost sounded like the valving for the hydraulics. I've used a lot of machinery with electric driven hydraulic units but nowhere near the size of those and most of them are so quiet you can really only tell they're on by the lights on the control panels. Nice machine that will definitely be a favorite for those with the right setup.

If you had a place outside to access 220, it would be nice and a lot quieter. being able to use it in a barn or building would increase the number of days you could split. With the problem getting components and engines right now, this could fix a lot of problems. Thanks Andrew. The electric motor looks like a very good option. A Motor this size is always 3 phase, single phase would be silly. Makes them interesting for the european market tbh. While the electric is not for everybody I think it is a great power alternative just like the Kubota option is compared to the standard gasoline engine. If you have the ability to run electric and do not move your splitter around very much and if you have 3 phase electric power is by far the way to go like you said no oil changes no keeping gasoline on hand no worrying about is your carburetor gummed up no worrying about is it going to start if it's really cold out nothing just hit the button and it comes on

People just automatically hate on electric because of what they hear in the MSM. It's the future and there's nothing we can do about it, I love it! Science and technology will prevail haha. The axis + that motor seems like an amazing combination!

So are you running a 1ph/3ph VFD on this?

No, not likely. That facility has 3ph power. Couldn't operate a place like that without it.

My current 10hp single phase pulls 40 amps full load @ 230 volt. That could be a pile of amps.

Not a big fan of the electric tools for my woodyard. It would be too far and too costly to get an electric service there.
