My partner and I have owned an Eastonmade 12-22 for about 5 years and couldn't be happier. We always spoke about building something versatile and mobile like this and looks like Andrew read our minds! I think this will be our next purchase!

Ah, blackfly! Reminds me of the few years we spent in Churchill Falls - so many damn blackfly they'd literally blot out the sun in some places - quadzillions x10 of them nasty buggers. Some men quit because they couldn't take how aggressive they were - crawling in your ears/nose and finding every exposed spot of skin. Buggers seemed to thrive on the DDT that was fogged down our street during the few months of 'summer' - us kids would ride our bikes behind the fogger machine to keep cool - them was the good ol' days? The Eastonmade is clearly the nicer machine except for the conveyor.

You can really see the guys bent over using the other machine, at the end of the day it’s hard to get out of that position. Not having to reposition your rounds to be able to split through make a huge difference too, another great machine Andrew!

Hands down the Eastonmade is the better splitter . Larger table , lifting arm holds more rounds . I agree with the other comments about the table height and the foot peddle . Watched the fella putting his foot up very high on the green one and I thought are you kidding me . My foot would fall off in a couple of hours doing that . Another thing is that it is Canadian Made . Support the Canadian businesses is what I like . You the man Andrew .

The height difference is very noticeable. Also having to raise up your leg so high on the other machine seems ridiculous, my leg would likely fall off after a full day of splitting. Andrew has raised the bar on the vertical splitters for sure.

having never ran any type of splitter like these i see thing about both machines i like better than the other. the Eastonmade has a taller table, shorter throw on the peddle, and it looks like a much bigger wedge. what i like about the other one is the conveyors front discharge. i have seen one like that with the front discharge that was self propelled so you didnt need a truck or atv to move it which i think is a real advantage

Great video. It was great to see people that are use to a vertical splitter putting the machines through their paces. Both awesome machines, but I would have to say that the Axis is the better machine. Two reasons. First, I love how much higher the table is for the operator. No bending over. Second, the axis seems to have power. Even in the gnarly pieces it pushed through without hesitation. Great machines you make Andrew. By the by, the other day I asked about financing. Is commercial all you guys have at the moment or do you have any for the non business owner?

Great comparison video. The one thing that I noticed one guy at the competitor's log splitter is hunched over And the other guy is standing upright at the Easton made machine. 🤔 I'm wondering if these guys are the same height?
@n3qdz
@n3qdz 4 жыл бұрын
WOW a huge difference between the two. While the form may be the same they really are not. The working height on the green one is WAY too low an the foot treadle has WAY too much travel and way too high! The steel in yours Andrew is pretty substantial. You took a great design and VASTLY improved it! EXCELLENT job.....for a second I thought you were gonna Smokie and the Bandit the truck door for a second.

Andrew is it possible making where the ram dt go all the way back to the top to save time? I notice on watch the power split videos they had a tool to stop the retract. Meaning if I am cutting 16 in wood I could stop it at 17 to save on speed...

@@EastonmadeWoodSplitters They are well made, but they have a ridiculous two-handed lever for the splitter operation to satisfy some OHS nonsense we have here in Aus... the foot pedals you have are much quicker, and I bet there have been plenty of Superaxes modified after sale to operate by foot pedal!
