You can tell Devon has really earned the respect of Levan. Clearly after seeing what Devon did to the rest of the field after Levan 1 leading up to Levan 2, it changed the way Levan thought about Devon. The difference in his attitude toward Devon now since then is palpable...

I really wished Devon's fairytale ascent to the top when he last pulled Levan came true. But I see now that this outcome might be even more beautiful: Levan has the deserved spotlight on him now and is immensely respectful to Devon and seems to want to take his legacy with him. Meanwhile Devon is getting healthy and puts less pressure on his body and mind, allowing the both of them to flourish in their own paths. It's a more wholesome and healthy outcome, and it took this interview for me to see that. Beautiful stuff!

Devon wanted to see if he still had something to teach Levan. He did. Levan was just such a good student, he used it to help defeat Devon. Their relationship is special.

That round 1 between them was everything we wanted to see. The press Levan went into basically hyperextended Devon at the elbow and drained every bit of energy he had. That position is impossible to hold up a nearly 400 pound guy. Levan and Engin both said the same, that they could tell Devon was drained after that. In the center position, Levan couldn't break through him even with all that power. Once he pressed Devon, Devon's arm was dead. I would love to see if Devon finds a solution for that, because he was definitely better this time than the first time, but some weight classes are too large to overcome with technique. It's why welterweights don't fight heavyweights in boxing. A 265 pound guy is just going to have a problem with a 385 pound guy when both guys are trained in the same skillset.

Im worried about prudnyk form because of his injury. I dont know but i see a dofficult fight for prudnyk but im a big a fan of him

Maybe the disregard Brzenk felt about weights is the same disregard Devon has about getting more massive in bulk form.

it's kinda funny that ppl think John's got a secret that he's kept for so long... there's no secret..there are folks who know him inside out.. they have seen him in practice sessions, competition, after pulls, training.. there's nothing they don't know... Devon's right.. John did an insane amount of table time the frequency and variety of which is hard to replicate today.. he's gifted and has a very high table IQ but he doesn't really jave a scientific approach that would allow him to figure out a secret sauce for success

The thing about John not training weights is that if all the other guys are lifting super heavy and he can stop them at all and beat them that means essentially took the force and power output that they can deliver from the highways that they left, so he never really needs to lift weights because he's dealing with muscles that have lifted weights that's how I look at it that's my logic lol.
