EASY Boiled Rice Breakfast | KHAO TOM | FITOUS THAI KITCHEN
This is my favourite breakfast to set me up for the day, arguably the most popular breakfast in Thailand. This could be called the lazy persons congee, as the rice is not cooked for as long as it is in congee, making it more watery and the rice keeping its form more.
Here's the recipe:
Raw rice or rice from the day before (as much as you like)
1 Tbsp Thin soy sauce
Some fried garlic ( we show you how to do this in the video with fresh garlic)
4 Heaped Tbsp Coriander and spring onion
A handful of prawns (up to you for the amount or you can use a different protein)
2l water (1 litre for the rice and 1l for the stock)
Some veg for the stock, we're using mooli
Some black pepper
Some chicken granules (optional)
1tsp salt

As with all Asian cooking this is a rough guide with regards to amounts, adjust for your own taste and spice tolerance.
If you want to make it spicier then toast birds eye chillies instead of large sweet chilli.
