@@sandy2236in the Caribbean we tend to call what is known as cane sugar, brown sugar because of the colour of the cane sugar and that’s what is most available to us, so now seeing people use white sugar and convert it into a brown version is quite intriguing 😊

Just so you know, i have canned fruit (peaches and pears) for years with no sugar at all!! I use about 1/3 c. Pineapple juice per quart. And then put the fruit in the jar and fill with water. If i want to make them sweeter, i will add a bit of stevia to the jar!! So simple and it keeps the fruit very pretty in the jars!! I also would NEVER waterbath them for 20 minutes or they would be mush! 5 minutes is all i do! Now i know that elevation plays a part in this. We live by the coast. So basically sea level!!

Especially the banana bread/cake, it rises beautifully in the oven and then the minute I take it out it deflates like a year old baloon. When you wiped the rim of the lemon juice - the towel looked damped. Was that because you wet it to get stuff off or was that excess lemon juice? Also, does that matter whichever way
@AdalineZook
@AdalineZook 10 ай бұрын
I think it was just water! It doesn't really matter, I often use a little white vinegar, but as long as they clean. I do want to add, if you are canning meat (or soup etc.) you will want to use vinegar to wipe the rims to be sure grease is not on the rim from broth or meat.
Final muy inesperado 🥹
