This is what I need for today, I always hear expose to the right, I sort of knew what it was, but I just didn't know how to, and I didn't even know about the zebra stuff at all or the base ISO on the R series camera. This video packed a punch for me!

Bro this video was 🔥🔥🔥. Im doing key word research for cinematic canon filmmaking and this came up. Funny how we both came to the same for exposing clog3. I feel so seen lmao. The tips for low light helped tho cause I always struggled deciding how to expose the night.

I am new to video on my R7. I had trouble seeing some of your settings because the clips are very short, I will need to rewatch this several times to follow what point you are making. It's OK to stretch things out a bit for us newbies.

you mean anamorphic? They have their purpose. Pros: - Looks good -anamorphic flares -Bokeh Cons: - Manual focus - Usually more expensive Don't think it would make or break your career. Very much Style points.

Do you mean with the ETTR method that with the r5 better raise up the iso if this is the only option to get a brighter image, or is it in this case doesn't matter because of similar noise with higher iso vs iso 800 and raise the shadows in post? Thank you

yes, usually iso is the last resort to achieve the exposure you want. You can choose to push the iso for more shadow/midtone detail & visibility at the expense of sharpness and dynamic range. It does affect the final image in such that Pushing the exposure up on a dark poorly exposed image in post is hard on Clog3 (even at iso800) because the cut off point for the shadows is very steep. Now if those shadows truly don't matter then maybe you're okay but if you goal is preservation, ISO 800 won't save your darker areas once they get too close to clip. You can't stretch your shadows like you can in clog2 or sony's slog's.
