I generally gravitate towards black metal against natural wood but I agree with your wife - white! But mostly because it’s a small room and the dark elements make the room even smaller. Maybe compromise by staining the wood instead of painting it white? That way the room will still look warm and not too plain.

I like the white color, it helps open and brighten up the narrow space.

Just color it grey. Its a good compromise of dark and light. Even if you opt out with dark grey, it will still look good.

light colored.. parang pang bachelor kasi kapag dark ganda ng build!.. kids really like playing under beds/tables/making tents. designed something something similar sa parent's house (builders implemented it). pero more on walk-in closet ang ilalim kaya parang above double deck bed ang height - guest bedroom. naging tambakan nalang yung bed ngayun.
