Learn to make custom stamps at home using foam blocks (you can find these at the Dollar Tree or other discount stores), a heat gun, and found objects or embossing folders and plates. It is fun, easy and frugal!

I searched your videos today, after watching Jennifer McGuire use Simon Hurley stamping foam. I knew you had done something similar. Wow, this was a while back! Thanks for sharing!

I know this was made 10 years ago. I'm actually glad this showed up on my recommendations. I wish I watched it before now. I, back in the 90s, I had a moldable foam stamp. It was a thing at that time. I haven't used it for years. A couple years ago I was trying to purge my craft supplies. Especially things I haven't used in years. Well, that foam was one of them. I ended up tossing it because it was stained. There was a technique using alcohol inks that I used it for. I also got rid of my inks. My texture plates also went. Now, alcohol inks are back. A current KZfaq host launched his version of the foam blocks. They are about $5 for 4 A2 size blocks. I renewed my intrest in them. But, you block hack is fabulous. Wasn't into embossing folders back then. So, im loving that. Not sure if they still that kind. Regulations and safty stuff. I will check the stores when I'm out and about. Thanks .

Thanks for the reboot. I actually have the original blue foam rectangles made for this technique. They were free, but I never tried them. Time to break out the oldies!

I am not buying craft supplies until around mother's day. I don't have bath blocks. I do have ink blending tools from Darice that look like marshmallows. They work for this!!!!!! I have a ton of supplies, but I have had "the wants". This was a REALLY fun discovery! I have not just made them, but USED them. THANK YOU!

wow I was sitting here looking at a Whitman's chocolate tin and noticed the beautiful raised designs on top of the lid and on the underside of the lid the design is receding this means this design can be easily turned in to a stamp with a raised image on it ...remember this my craft loving friends ....

Thank you Lindsay for the video. I knew I had seen something like this a while back. Well I had some of those foam pieces, and finally found them, so now that I found your video, I am so happy... going to make some stamps. Thank you again.

13 Dec 21 - it's so funny to see you using "bath foamies", as the stamping foam on the market now is such a "hot item" -- it's fun to see how your style has stayed so consistent up through today's videos and your presentation style, humor, positivity has remained the same. Always a pleasure to watch your videos.

Hey Meli, I wanted to mention that the foam blocks (in the toy/baby section) will work better than the foam sheets but either will work;)

Mizz Lindsay . . . everything everyone has said - you're remarkable & so appreciated! And if you could tell me what you're using for those block/stamps . . . that would be grand. I've read, watched & searched online - but am coming up empty handed. Much thanks if you can help.

They are bath blocks from the dollar store. Simon Hurley has recently released one through Ranger made for stampers if you can't find the foam bath blocks. You can also try target,tj max or Walmart in the baby section. Let me check amazon ... these will work amzn.to/3R9Q33y

Great ideas! Tfs. Some of the stuff is not so easy to find in the U.K. I have never seen the texture plates, but I suppose one can always substitute with other found things with interesting patterns and textures. I have always wondered if a hair dryer will do instead of a hot gun?

nsshields83 they should, you can try pressing the foam to a hot light bulb to heat it or a hot hair dryer maybe:) hobby lobby should have a heat gun though, it is called an embossing gun too.
