Bought to carry my Royal Alloy and Lambretta Scooter for UK holidays and touring.

Quite possibly the best Scooter / Motorbike Carrier / Trailer / Rack with swivel style castor wheels. Whatever you want to call the Hydra Trail, it's a great one man use to move your motorcycle about and is rated to carry up to 250 Kg
So, is this the best motorcycle trailer available or a waste of money?

Brilliant bit of kit takes up no room in the garage no reversing problems the more I use it the more I like it

I've used one of these and towed a metric cruiser several thousand miles around Europe. It's main advantages are storage, easy reversing and on Brittany ferries it is treated as a bike rack. The main cons are; it's fiddly to set up, it has no suspension, unless the trailer and vehicle are on the same level plane you can't raise the platform high enough to remove or refit wheels. You can't detach the trailer while it it loaded.

I brought mine used off a guy used to tow it to Benidorm twice a year .£550 just brought new wheels with tyres on .I've not used yet as motorhome not on road .I towed to South of Barcelona years ago on normal trailer and got into trouble few times reversing .

Couldn’t live with that. A small bike trailer would be better in just about every way: easier to drive with and reverse, easier to load, retain your rear door access, no faffing around building / taking apart, less to go wrong / get damaged, no more costly.

many pros for me .some few cons i am will to modify myself.oversall looks robust and lonlasting piece of kit the first bit that hangs on the square hitch is the best part of this trailes.is it ok for a bmw 1300 gs ,ill have to make some inquries

Yep... It's definitely noisier than a normal helmet. I've just fitted a larger touring screen, and it's actually not too bad now. Thanks for commenting 🙂

Hi do you think you would be able to fit an older vespa on here such as a vb1 ? Wider frame and wider panels ?

I would say, its designed for big bikes, and of course the Royal Alloy is a wide Scooter too

Actually, after using it a few times it's not that bad, but yes, a bit of a faff. I'll do another video now I've had more practise.

Thank you for your hard! Work, l was liking the idea but not now too many design flaws, the wheels being the small diameter type run very hot and puncture easily, I know from past trailering until I converted the trailer to large diameter 10" and cured past issues. The wheel location where the locating pin only penetrates through one hole is a no no for me as all the weight of the trailer including motorcycle will cause wear on that pin so eventually the hole where the pin penetrates will elongate and then possible disaster. Have asked the AA and that is not equipment they use.

Yes, My concerns too. On the official website it did say that the Breakdown services used these and I have actually seen them using one once, although some time ago! Thanks

At 8:51 you say about making a strong bracket to fit onto the suspension part, to allow you to move the van... Could you just lift the suspension part and slide a thick block of wood, or box section tube, in between the scissor part to hold it up and locked?

I also have an Easylifer trailer and like you I'm not quite convinced of whether I like it or not. Watching your video though you are putting the jack on incorrectly. It doesn't go on the end bit of the stabilising stand, it goes on the other side, between the lifting arm and the stand if that makes sense? That way it won't slide off the end.

They do an easy lifter without wheels that jacks up and locks so must be a way of locking it in up position .

Yes, it should be lockable. They are a good idea too, but a normal car or light van can't carry that weight on a towball. So no good for me.
