This is an easy no recipe granola that you can make for less than 1/3 the price of prepackaged ones at the grocery store - and you know exactly what is in it! Make it your own by adding your own flavor combinations such as vanilla almond granola, maple pecan granola, peanut butter chocolate granola, or vanilla blueberry granola.
Easy Healthy Granola Recipe:
4 cups of regular oats (can be gluten free)
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup honey (or maple syrup)
1/2 cup coconut oil
1-2 whipped egg whites (optional for protein and granola clusters)
Mix all of the above in a bowl. Add any spices, extracts. and/or nuts and seeds at this time. Spread on baking sheet and bake at 300 degrees for 40-45 minutes, or until brown turning halfway through. Allow to cool and harden, then add any dried fruits or chocolate.
*recipe can be halved and measurements are loose

The first time I made this I added the raisins before I baked it....those little burnt, black balls of disgusting failure ruined the whole batch. lol. Great video. I love the no measure!

Thanks for yet another awesome video. I made my first batch of granola following your ‘recipe’ and did not use the egg whites. It turned out crunchy and very tasty but very loose. I was hoping for a chunkier version. I thought maybe I didn’t use enough honey/maple syrup. I’ll experiment next time. Thanks again.

i like preheating coconut oil and then adding my syrups ....maple and agave in equal proportions ... then adding the preheated portion to the oat mixture ... this allows for an easier blending process ... also i blend in my nuts and dried fruit immediately out of the oven ...as this tends to homogenize the mixture ....when roasting a nut mixture in cast iron ...ill often add raisins in the final stages and then salt the mixture for a sweet and salty variety of explosive tastes ....Viking

I've heard you say in a few videos, "that is too expensive for me". While this may or may not be true, what I think you're really saying is "I'd rather spend my money in some other, smarter, more frugal way". Marketing is JUST CRAZY in the U.S. and we are, or were all brainwashed to it, to some degree. I just love your videos... so many things I agree with. Some we're already doing and some I've never heard of. Thanks for choosing to spend your time in such a way to benefit others.

Your granola recipe is way simple. Thanks for sharing. Here is the one I make. It is from Julie Bauer "OMG, that's paleo" recipe book. Pumpkin granola. First mix wet ingred. then dry, then mix both together. Baker 325 for 30-40 mins. 1/2 cup of EACH sliced almonds, pumpkin seeds, pecans, 8-10 dried medjool dates chopped, 1/2 cup pumpkin puree, 1/3 cup coconut oil, melted. 1/3 cup unsweetened shredded coconut, 1/3 cup maple syrup 1 tsp. vanilla, 2 tbsp. cinnamon 2 tbsp. nutmeg 1/8 tsp cloves 1/8 tsp ground ginger, pinch salt. I made the mistake of adding salted pumpkin seeds to my granola. They are too tough and too salty. And instead of raisins I used dried cranberries. I like to eat my granola on top of fresh homemade yogurt. I do have a yogurt maker so it helps with controlling the temperature as it rests. Also, this granola is delicious as a cereal or a cereal additive. Thanks.

Good basic recipe, Jaime! Question: Do you add Himalayan pink salt to your recipe? ( I notice you use it in other videos) . Curious because my granola was too salty, as I used sea salt, and I know pink salt produces a mild saltiness. Will cut my salt in half next time or use pink salt. Thanks for sharing it!
