Cast on 3 stitches Increase 1 stitch at the beginning of every row until there are approximately 50 stitches on the needle When you reach 50 stitches on the needle, increase 1 stitch at the BEGINNING and END of every row until only five yards of yarn remain. Bind off VERY loosely.

Thank you Nancy, love the video's and shawls and cowls, I hadn't knitted for several years and started last Spring and have become addicted. The yarns are just wonderful and I know I will have to have one or two or three........ of the ones shown in the videos. I just may go broke buying yarn. I love how the yarn drapes and looks so soft and cuddly around your neck. Norma Pfalzgraf

Thank you. I'm going to try it. I'm curious; would it come out the same if you did this the opposite way? Starting with the desired length first, then decrease? Ann

I use a size 8 needles and do my increase in the second st. I just keep doing it every roll

Hi Judy, what weight yarn are you using? I tend to go up to really big needles (at least a US 11 or higher) for this project.

@@nobleknits I had bought some shawl in a ball and it suggested using a size 8 and I is considered to be a 4 but more like a 3 in my opinion. Since I give most of the things I make to the food pantry and a few churches I use Mandala for my shawls but red heart yarn for my hats, mittens and crowls. With Mandala yarn I use a size 8 and if I am crocheting I see what it suggests

Can you please give me a tip about linen yarns? Because it is my first time to knit with it, and I don't know what project will suit it. I tried the fine or dk weight yarn linen yarn-i tripled the strands. I saw in the internet, linen yarn will soften. I tried knitting it with this beautiful pattern and the other lovely shawl, but I think I'm more familiar with cotton or wool, than linen yarn-because it is so think to go together with both of the pattern.

can you use a size 8 circular needle
@nobleknits7 жыл бұрын
Hi Paula, you can use a size 8 needle, however it will make several changes to the design. This shawl was knitted on a much larger needle, so if you use an 8, the stitches will be much smaller resulting in a much smaller finished project. To compensate for that, you'll need more yarn (probably twice as much) and instead of working to 50 stitches on the needle before increasing at both ends, you'll need to knit to about 75 sts. Enjoy!
