Dear Sewing Friends, in this video we are continuing with sewing easy pants from a patterns that we have created by tracing a pair of pants we already have! These pants have pockets and it is super easy to sew these! Watch the first part of creating a pattern, here - • How to turn your PANTS...

• Instruction sheets are a step-by-step written instruction on how I drafted this or that project, so that you can follow along. Instruction Sheets are available as a back catalogue, but there are no new Instruction sheets for projects starting with July 2022.
• The templates are ONLY for the small projects, like a basket, or coaster, or towel wrap and etc.

Actually in YT world they only notice there was activity for the video, they do not track likes and dislikes , so ALL clicks good or bad look good to YT....odd I know.

So glad I found this video. I love the simplicity of making the pants pattern AND the pockets. I feel the pattern can also be used to make a pair of dress pants you wear "out." Just change the fabric you make them out of, I guess. TY for sharing the video with us.

Your tutorials are really blissful to watch and they are so clearly explained. I always use the tip for the waistband now! With my hourglass figure, have a clear waist and with the regular waistband it doesn't fit nicely. Also the explanation and creation of the pockets is clever and clear! Very timely video for me. I'm making pj pants for my kids and in-laws and grandkids for Christmas. I've finished 10 of them already, but the others are going to have the benefit of your pocket ideas. I just watched the pattern video & after asking if there was a sewing video, I found this one. LOL. Pockets! I love pockets! Those pants are super cute when finished. I love that you have an elastic waistband that isn't gathered. It looks so comfortable. I think I would want pockets that have lining and are on the inside of the pants though. But I think that is a matter of cutting an opening in the pants at the angle you want to have for the pockets (but leaving room for seam allowances)? Maybe the pockets could be lined with that gray stretch fabric. LOL.

Thanks for.this. I bought a pattern for pants and I have been dragging out making it because the instructions are just crazy. Too much reading for my liking. This was making me feel bad because I spent a lot of money on a new sewing machine and buying material and the shipping costs et. I'm gonna skip that pattern and follow your technique for pockets and waistband. I knew it should be more simple. Ps I'm gonna subscribe and check out joining if this works out for me. I’m going to make a cardi and the fabric has thick stripes. Should I do the fold over method that you do in the video or should I cut each piece out individually to make sure it lines up perfectly? You always explain everything so well! I have flannel to make pjs. The waistband is a great tip!!!! I really have been wanting pockets and drawstrings on my pjs and this was super helpful!!! 🥰

Hello and thank you! I am making the pants and I have a question... Do I make 2 waist bands? then sew them together? Since the one pattern is the total of the front and back pant which makes it fit front or back but not both. I am brand new to sewing and I'm loving every minute and every little detail of the experience. I hope you or someone can help with my question. Thank You!!

DeeDee, hello there and thank you for being here! Let's see, I am not at my desk right now, but yes, if you draft the waistband as half, witht the plan of cutting two of those pattern pieces or cutting it on the fold, then yes, you will need to either cut twice or on the fold. Otherwise you won't be able to attach it, as it won't be long enough. Let me know if this cleared it up for you and happy sewing!

Do you have any tips on how to make a cozy high waistband suitable for someone that is pregnant? 🙈😍These pockets, I am completely in love with it’s shape and how it (for me) makes the pants complete. --- I got so inspired by this video, so glad and thankful for that! I just finished my pants from fleece. They are so soft & comfortable. The first lounge pants I've had that are long enough. I do need to figure out a crotch adjustment before I make more. Great tutorial

I've never made pants before, thank you for making this beginner friendly😊 Can I ask about the leg patterns? Do you just flip the front pattern piece over to make the other leg? So I'd be seeing the patterned side of the paper you used to make the pattern, to make the front of the other leg? Also, if I wanted to avoid outer side seams, would I just cut the fabric on the fold? xx

Threaded it in and sewed the ends. The waistband was juts the right width and it fit nicely!

The front of my pants came out bulky. I was confused on how to connect the higher tip of the back to the front part on the waist. Also, my machine won‘t see stretchy fabrics. Any tips?

I had same problem, until i found out you need a ball point ( stretch fabric ) needle. In fact often sewing issues is the needle so it’s worth having a variety- detail somehow no one tells you. Hope this helps x

Pat, hello there! So waistbands - really depends, I don't usually cut them on the bias, necklines however - always, except for knit fabric. Although there are some situations when cutting knit waistband on the bias helps, too!

how do you know how much fabric to buy? Maybe you covered that in the previous video? I always have a hard time picking out fabric. Going to the fabric store is overwhelming with all the choices. And I don't always like the selection either. Any tips for buying fabric? I love your videos. You do a great job explaining the steps clearly.

Caro, hi! To answer your question 1) make the pattern and put it on the floor, then take a measuring tape and measure - that's how much fabric you will need times 2. 2) I have a video about which fabric to choose for which pattern - if you click on my channel name and go to video tab you will see all videos there.
