I thought earning passive income mining crypto was supposed to be easy?! The VoskCoin Mining Farm has expanded a lot in the last year, which has led to a lot more time being spent on the maintenance and upkeep of the cryptocurrency miners and the mining farm. We do immersion mining, hard drive HDD mining, and air-cooled mining, and they all have their pros and cons. We have installed Meter Boxes all throughout the farm to help us monitor power usage more easily. This will be our first full summer mining, so we are anticipating some hurdles with high temps. But let's spend a day on the farm and get our cryptocurrency miners back up and running!

Add shadow to all cooling systems outside the sheds... Cut direct sunlight and you will run a few degrees colder in the summer (enclose it and add shadow on exposed areas of ventilation)

Hi Vosk, I m also in VA and with the electric rate of 0.14/KWh. I run my miners at home and I break even at 15J/TH. I have tune my miners to run at lower modes to meet near this threshold. Do you have a better electric rate in your area?

Swapping out miner for a lower watt miner is a good start for hot days. When it got really hot on me, back when I was running all out, it wasn't uncommon for me to shut off a miner or 2. I don't know with newer miners, but s19j can pull anywhere from 8- 15 amps depending on heat of fluid. Sadly you get the same hashrate. It's amazing how inefficient they get from heat. I suspect all ASICS suffer the same fate. The other trick I would do was dummy out any fan speed reducer and let it them run max. This will get you overall cooler at night(summer mode) which will give you more time before heat of day catches you. I was able to keep a miner or 2 on doing this. Good luck. Keep us updated.

Do you know how to get the C6 to auto-start the pump when power is restored? Currently my miners restart but the pump does not, so it overheats quickly.

There is a ton of information out there about cool data centers. Miners are no different than cooling servers in fact they are actually easier typically from a complexity standpoint. I mean sure you see lots of input from people in the comments like shade the coolers and sure that works in certain instances but only if the cooler is hitting thermal mass. If it is not hitting thermal mass 100% utilization that shading doesn't do anything. Anyhow any cooling principal you find around data center cooling can be applied to cooling miners as it is just heat dissipation and airflow. He would be better off with a unite from GRC cooling vs having 6-7 units as he would benefit from scale.

We can learn a lot from ancient Middle- Eastern architechtural design methods, of passive energy free cooling, in desert climates... Cold sinks, and Heat rises, so... Imagine subterranean wind tunnels and wind turbines for added power to mine with.. So, a natural design cooling system, that also produces free electric power?! maby the worse thing about all these different systems is when it comes down to taking a week or two on vacation.. maby this is why you guys need kids 😆 it will take years to train a person to run all of that anyway sounds like you will be picking up blocks of dry ice for cooling all summer, so you dont trip the breaker 🤫
