@@PeachyTT120 I enjoyed your video too. I'm surprised that there are so few KZfaqrs seem to be taking these advancements up. Not too long before all manner of accessories such as signals, points etc are connected up.

Hi Peachy. Your advice to touch the decoder only by the edges of the board is sound; however, I would go one further and "ground" yourself by touching a radiator (or other earthed piece of metal), or even better, buy an antistatic wrist strap (they can be had for less than £5). Any news on that lapel mic? I'm still having to use earphones for your direct-to-camera pieces. I have to say, I wasn't too impressed with the sound of the A4's whistle - too high a frequency to be anywhere near the real thing. The update to the software/firmware should usually be done late at night so the Hornby website isn't too busy. Having to download the sound file several times is probably a glitch in the HM7000 app (that needs to be looked at by the developers). Crawl speed: interesting; another YTer couldn't get his Blink Bonny to crawl slowly.

Good advice on grounding. Yes I bought the mic, just forgot to use it on this one 🤦‍♂️I promise to try harder in future. As for the crawling, I was very surprised, it certainly performs much better using this software than straight analogue DC

Cobalt Alpha Power 18V, 5 amp DC From DCC concepts. Bit overkill for this tiny layout, but I’d bought for my big lift layout which is a few years away yet.

As I mentioned at 3.50 I’d already done it but hadn’t turned the camera on. Sorry, this was one of my earlier videos so I was making lots of mistakes. 😢

Have numerous MM models these decoders don’t fit any of my MM Locos.

@@PeachyTT120 Murphy Models produce OO Irish Rail locomotives ie Class 141,171,121,071 & 201 also numerous Irish Rail/CIE coaches. They are based in Dublin. That’s why I was disappointed with these new chips,some of which don’t fit their Hornby locos either,It’s a reasonable system but needs refining.

@@PeachyTT120 TBH I can’t see that happening the reason I say that, Hornby have failed or neglected the Irish market for yrs. Also they never made any attempt to attend any of the model railway exhibitions.They also never made any attempt to produce a RTR Irish locomotive eg The 800 Class. You should check out IRM sister company is Accurascale.
