Rich shows you how to make an easy homemade pollen patty that you can use any time you need to give a hive a little boost.
And here’s the recipe:
Ingredients -
 1 cup water
1 cup sugar,
1 tablespoon Lemon juice,
1 teaspoon honey
2 drops “honey B healthy” liquid
1 cup “Ultra Bee” or Any Other pollen Substitute you prefer
1 tablespoon local pollen
Parchment paper
Directions -
Heat water to boiling, then remove from heat. Add sugar, lemon juice, honey and honey B healthy to the water. Crush local pollen in a mortar and pestle or use electric grinder. In a bowl, put pollen substitute and local pollen together and mix. Gradually add the water mixture until you reach the consistency you want, probably like cookie dough. Cut a large enough piece of parchment paper to hold about 1/2 cup of the dough. Put the dough in the center. Fold the paper over the center and squeeze with your hands and rolling pin to about 1/4 inch thick or your preferred thickness. You can cut the pollen patty into strips for the size you want. This can be stored in the freezer and taken out a few minutes before you want to use it.
