#harbor maneuvers #line casting
We were asked very often how we do it with the mooring maneuvers and if we don't want to show our maneuvers.
We are very happy to do that - but we don't want to make an "explainer video", others can definitely do that better!
We have found the best way for us - and we are happy to explain it to you.
We do the "middle cleat maneuver" and for this it is an advantage if you can handle the lines well.
Therefore, we also show you how to throw lines very easily. This really helps us a lot!
(After the table of contents you will find a detailed description of the maneuver. For those who are interested!)

Forward mooring with center cleat
Steaming into the center jump, two by two without assistance.
Procedure:
1. start slowly, announce box, announce side + middle cleat berthing (helmsman).
2. line on middle cleat occupied (jetty side), under the sea fence, ready to cast
3. helmsman starts, announces the cleat
4. helmsman stops near the cleat, cast line, get tight
5. command "line tight" (coxswain), cast line with head stroke, confirmation "line tight" (thrower)
6. slowly steaming into the jump, rudder position = stern to the jetty
7. when steamed in, keep engaged, boat is stable in the box, if necessary vary the length of the center spring
8. calmly cast all other lines (in pairs), align boat.
9. when everything is ready, disengage, engine off.
10. high-five, jetty beer.
