So cute Gina!! Love it! 😍😬 by the way thread burners can blob too. I’m always nervous to use the lighter. I’m afraid of burning my piece. I guess it just depends on what you’re use to. Thank you for another awesome tutorial!!💐
@GinasGemCreations4 жыл бұрын
Yes, I know thread burners work for extending too, however, the thread burner I bought, has never worked well. I bought a new one, different brand, I am going to try it, when I receive it. I hope it actually works, the batteries die, in the one I bought, after one use.

How beautiful, I am going to start beading. I have purchased beads and some other items, could you help us newbies and inform us beginners on what we will need to purchase to get started beading. Are there books out there that would be helpful thank you so much
@GinasGemCreations7 жыл бұрын
+wubbie2002 Yes, there are tons of books...Amazon is a great source for that. I Recommend getting a book on basic stitches, learn them, then get some books with design patterns you think are pretty. There are loads of resources on the net and You tube is a great resource too. I will do a video for newbies, been intending to do that, but in the meantime get some seed beads. Toho or Miyuki rounds are great to start with. Get some neutral colors of 15/0, 11/0 and 8/0.... then get bicones in 4and 6mm and round beads in 3, 4, and 6mm. That is good, basic start.

Hi Gina. I am very new to beading and was told Miyuki are the most uniform seed beads. I would just like to know why you're using Toho instead. Thanks😊
@GinasGemCreations7 жыл бұрын
+Debra Conner Toho seed beads are also Japanese seed beads, like Miyuki, there are also very uniform, but they are also a bit larger than Miyuki and have a wider hole. They have beautiful finishes and make very nice looking pieces. I prefer them because of the larger size and hole. They are easier to handle and to see. My eyes are not the best. They are also more affordable than Miyuki. It's a preference thing. Many people believe that you should only use certain brands of beads. I do not believe that. I do like quality beads. But I am not snobby about it, if I think a bead is pretty, I use it. It's easy to fall into the trap of not using certain beads because someone on You Tube says they are "crappy" I say use what you have, use what you like, use what you can afford, use them all and mix them together...there is no real reason not to. I explore the creative side of beading, the art of creating something from whatever you have. I enjoy the feeling of accomplishment from that and if it come from using Walmart beads, so be it. I love to create. It all has value, and making pieces with affordable beads is also profitable, they sell because they are more affordable to buy. So whether it is Czech, Toho , Miyuki, Chinese crystal, Swarovski Crystal...I use it all. Good question by the way.💖😀

Gina, what is the difference between a chaton and a rivoli, I have a 12mm chaton but the chaton won't stay inside the beads.
@GinasGemCreations6 жыл бұрын
+Margie Vargaz they are shaped differently, a Rivoli is basically a flat owned bicone shape, even on both sides. a chat on is has a deeper cone shape on the back side.
@GinasGemCreations6 жыл бұрын
+A Rivoli is a flattened bicone, is what I meant to say.

I have a request. Would you please do a tutorial on a S - Dragon, sometimes called a Shiny. I found free written instructions on Pinterest, but in Russian, lol, can't read it. And I'm not professional enough to just look at it and make it, but you are. Please please please, I want to make one so badly.!

If you Google search with words > beaded S-Dragon, you will find them. I want to make one so badly. One girl has a free tutorial, but I can't follow it, it is written and drawn. But there are no videos on how to make it. You're so talented, you can probably just look at the images and know how it is made.

@GinasGemCreations6 жыл бұрын
+Kristine Rioux maybe just add an extra seed bead to each segment of seed beads in the design.
@meganflowers8506 жыл бұрын
I have tried so hard to get my rivoli to fit. I can't get the 12mm to fit. It keeps calling out and doesn't fit easy or simple. Please share if your beads or round or delicas or whatever. It's truly not simple and want to know what I'm doing wrong? I'm at the part adding the 2 - 15 O's on the top 12'0s and the rivoli won't fit. It's so lopsided. Like it needs 5 beads between the sb2 .. it won't fit. :(
@GinasGemCreations6 жыл бұрын
I used Toho round beads, they are larger than other brands, you may need to add one more seed bead to each section of seed beads. 12/os are smaller than 11/0s, I used 11/0s. Adjust the amount of seed beads to allow for the size change.
@meganflowers8506 жыл бұрын

I cannot get chatons to stay?
@GinasGemCreations6 жыл бұрын
+shawnee glenn that is because Chatons are shaped differently than Rivolis. The design was made with a Rivoli. Sometimes you can change beads in a design, but generally Rivolis and Chatons are not interchangeable.
@missyidontgiveacrap99394 жыл бұрын
Not easy at all...rivioli won’t stay and I’m using Toho beads. I’m getting really frustrated 😢
@GinasGemCreations4 жыл бұрын
Oh nooo! Try adding one more seed bead on each side
@missyidontgiveacrap99394 жыл бұрын
Gina's Gem Creations You’re so sweet to respond back! Thank you so much! I got these rivolis from a bead show that came into town, and I have a feeling they are not Swarovski 12mm, so that’s probably why I was struggling. I’ve been beading for a while and never usually have a bezel problem, so it wasn’t your tutorial, it was the knockoff rivoli 😕 They told me it was Swarovski so I believed them and paid for it and left. But the other day, I compared it to my 14mm real Swarovski rivoli, and the shine isn’t the same, so the 12mm knockoff sizing is probably not on par either. The knockoff is still pretty, I’ll still find a use for it, but just wanted to let you know that it wasn’t your tutorial. Sorry if I originally came off that way. I had to put my detective hat on and investigate the problem. I might even take the suggestion to add a bead like you said and see if that worked 🥰 Thank you so much, Gina, I hope you have a great, happy Valentine’s Day! 💗
