I love the placket and the color buttons. I sew mine by hand. I have a special way to do it it literally takes minutes per button. A trick I learned in 4-H

Made a big difference in final look compared to no buttons! BTW it just dawned on me in the video the lightening you have on the machine..I know it mainly is for videos but how sweet to be able to see like that while sewing…lol

Perfect timing. I'm new to sewing and have been using the same basic 3/4 sleeve pull over shirt pattern so I can practice. I've done 3 so far and - just like you said - do a slight variation each time. I want to add a placket to this shirt now and also practice with either elastic thread for the end of the sleeves, or cut the bodice just under the breast and add several small pleats before sewing the two pieces together. Sometimes I just make part of a shirt like the sleeves or half the top to practice a certain technique like different neck bands, or adding slits in the sleeves. I don't need to waste an entire shirt worth of fabric to just practice a single modification.

Love your dress! You look cute in everything! I would use my machine to sew buttons on this, but there are times when I choose to hand sew buttons. The thing about machine buttons is to leave a long starter thread and end with a long tail. Make sure both threads are pulled to the back and tie a couple of knots to secure.
