Hi Mike, I just discovered your channel. Reason being is that I’m testing B3 VSTs for jamming Deep Purple, Boston, Kansas, Yes, ELP and other 70’s B3 stuff. (I’m actually a guitarists, but have enough skills to midi things up) I know this is lame compared to having a real player, but that’s just not possible these days. My son is a great drummer, I’ve been playing for over 50 yrs, beginning in the late 60’s. Anyway, enough of that - I’ve already learned quite a bit about the B3 and Jon Lord from you, your channel is really informative. I’ve got a question about Max Middletons use of the Rhodes and Clav. *If you know,* could you tell me how he got that funky (Rhodes? Clav?) overdriven sound for the keys on Blow by Blow ‘You Know What I Mean’? Besides the aforementioned bands, I love covering Becks stuff from the 70’s. I have never been able to find anything online that reveals how Max got that sound, but I suspect it’s the Rhodes, which I know nothing about. If this is stuff that’s never on your radar, I certainly understand. Much success with your channel. P.S. I only recently discovered yesterday that Jon didn’t actually play the B3. Then today, I find out from your vid what happened to his beloved C and the part you played that day to save DP. Very Cool.
