The first time I cooked a turkey I was really scared. Something about it intimidated me, but it seriously could not be easier. A six ingredient marinade, an optional stuffing, forget about it in the oven for a while, and bam. Listo.
This recipe is great for Thanksgiving, but honestly I'm a big believer in eating turkey all year long. It doesn't have to be such a huge event, and nothing this tasty should only be eaten once a year!
INGREDIENTS:
1 large turkey (duh)
Lime juice
FOR THE ADOBO:
(per pound of turkey)
1 garlic clove
2 peppercorns
1/4 tsp dry oregano
1 tsp salt
1 tsp olive oil
1 tsp vinegar
FOR THE RELLENO:
1 lb ground beef
½ lb ground pork
1 onion, chopped
½ cup raisins
1 tbsp capers
6 or more olives
4 hard boiled eggs, chopped
1 cup pimientos morrones
1 tbsp sugar
2 cup apple sauce
Salt to taste
