Im so gona try this. I'm Hawaiian/ Puerto Rican and growing up my family would make about 3000 Pastelles but of course its the family assembly line setup (mom, dad, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, etc). Since I now live in another state I have not made any since. This now got me wanting to make a bunch this weekend. Quick question, you think I could use a steamer instead of the oven by chance?

Love your pasteles idea! What kind of pumpkin is that? Is it like the regular pie pumpkins or a specific brand of frozen pumpkin? They are all so different and I want the right kind. Thanks!😊

This recipe made me subscribe. I love pasteles but I don't have the time to make them. Very time consuming. This is a great way to get that flavor in along with the arroz con gandules. Tradition is great, when you have the time but when you don't recipes like this make it fun to try & eat our foods again. Gracias, mija. Feliz año nuevo.

Carolina, thanks for your innovative and impressive new way of making pasteles, I do rather do them the traditional way, but I do give you credit, they look awesome and delicious, by the way you forgot to provide a link for the silicone cups in your Amazon store page. I’ve been eating pasteles since my youth in Puerto Rico with my Abuelita en el campo we used to gather all the raw materials en nuestra finca. By far arróz con Gandules y lechón , pasteles are my all time FAVORITE, 🤤 Yum, Yum!!! You know how it is “Spanglish” all the way! 😂😂😂 Enjoy Thank you!

This looks amazing!! Can this be made ahead and if so how do you store until you need. Also how to store leftovers? Not sure how or why there would be any leftover but just in case!! 😊
@victorvaldes92387 ай бұрын
Just freeze them in the cup and them in parchment paper put them in a large ziplock bag and store them until needed.

i know this would get my 'rican card' revoked but i am usually not a huge fan of pasteles. partly due to mushy texture. but if this version makes the masa a little firmer, i think i might have a better chance of liking it? might give it a try!

@@caroginorio_prcan I put the bananas in the microwave first b4 food processor? Will that change the texture? I also like the "mushy" texture so do you know how I could get that consistency as well? Just found you on insta and now I'm following! Excited to try this cuz I just don't have the time or the "team" Familia to do the traditional assembly of pastelle making. Growing up itbwas a BIG event that involved grandparents to parents to grandkids and everyone had a "job"😂. Can't do that now sadly. Thank you and look forward to more vids!!
