EASY Transmission Install Trick!

Күн бұрынIf your Mustang transmission won't go in all the way when you're installing it, this trick will make it easy. WORKS EVERY TIME. This solves a transmission that hangs up during installation. Demonstrated on a Fox Mustang, but works with all Mustang transmissions. How to install a Mustang transmission.

You can do it by yourself, while installing the trans. Just use a prybar in the bellhousing opening for the clutch fork and push the clutch fork forward. No need for someone else, or for anyone to be in the car

mine has an internal slave and i read where actuating it without it being fully installed can ruin the bearing?..plus, wouldn't the force on the pressure plate be working against you in getting it in?? i been trying for 3 days to get her in the last inch, im goin mad!!

How do you align the splines shaft to make sure that it will go all the way in ? Thx … I’ve swapped a 5.0 on a f150, first time ever and not a easy project lol

That is excellent. I guess I’m an idiot for not hooking up the cable first. This is awesome and thank you for showing us how easy it can be. I’ve had issues trying to route the clutch cable so it’s not binding up and causing more friction inside the cable.

mine just doesn't want to go in the last inch, tried all the tricks but this one because i was told to never actuate the slave while it is not fully installed? any suggestions would be appreciated..

I'm going to try this and let you know how it went, I'm also considering loosening the motor mounts and a small jack against the suspension to raise the motor back

No need to loosen the motor mounts. You can also tilt the engine forwards and backwards to install.

@@Mustang-Geek I’ve just swapped a 5.0 on a 96 f150 with manual transmission and the truck goes into gear but, doesn’t move forward… any suggestions would be appreciated Thank you

@@andreibaity6152 Need more info. Does it go into gear but of you release the clutch it acts like it's in neutral, or does the engine bog down and stall?

@@Mustang-Geek …I’ve figured it out, though my mechanic had me to change the t-case it actually was the hydro clutch that needed to be bleed and then everything worked perfect…thank you for your response though
