hi, I was wondering if you know or have by any chance a tutorial on how I could actually store these beautiful rice paper flowers? I have seen somewhere on google written that they can actually last for an indefinite period of time, if stored properly.... hmn....thank you,

Hi Dear, I don't have a tutorial for that yet but that's a good idea, if you'd like to store them, Keep them in a airtight container, around dry area-! If you once used it on the cake I don't recommend keeping it to store them :) Thank you!

How long did you leave the rice paper to dry and does it have to be a silicon mat?

Hi Jennifer, I made it in the afternoon and left it overnight, next day in the morning mostly was dried. The main piece took a bit longer which I used two sheets together. Silicon mats makes it sleek, I used parchment papers too, those you can get some paper texture on it

Can any kind of rice paper be used? For example, glutinous rice paper which is a little thinner?

Hello! great question-! if your rice paper is too thin, I would overlap 2 papers not completely but half of it, so there's some strength on the paper

Gorgeous! Thank you for the tutorial! One question, how far ahead can I make these and how do I store them? Can I decorate a cake the day before and refrigerate?

Hi there, these decorations holds up well, It was fine for months but I'll suggest you to make maximum 1-2weeks ahead, because if you add colors, the color might fade, if you keep it for more than a month. Once it's completely dried keep it in an air tight container. You can add these rice paper decor on the cake the day before and keep it overnight, the decorations are fine the the fridge for 2-3days

Can you show us how to cut the ruffly cake or the cake which have a lot of decration like wafer paper or rice paper ?

For this sleek texture, I think you could dry half way in the oven and halfway air dry, I tried silicon pad in the oven and some thin ones just stuck and didn't peel off (I did 175F 30min, turn off the oven and another 2hour left in the oven). Try with low temperature under 175F, dry 20 minutes and dry the rest outside. Hope this helps.
