Awesome I tried this at home and it worked then I froze it and it made an amazing colorful design I mixed up more and found out this is very creative and adds color to your room

This is really good .I am learning how to do this in school and I just wanted some more help.the only thing I would change is the order because I would like to see them sort themselves
@AntASledd4 жыл бұрын
I did it when they were all hot, and it seemed that for me they all mixed together; I only used the little needle-less syringe thing a little bit, but it seemed that everything was mixing too much. So, then I just poured each warm/hot part in slowly. But, it still didn't separate into any distinct colors, but it just all looked a blackish-purple look. However, I didn't think to look at it in bright light. I tried again, and the 2nd time I let everything get cold after I had mixed it well. And, the second time, I used the "needle-less syringe" thing to put the parts in slowly. And, when I put the cool colored water parts in slowly with the needle-less syringe thing, it seemed to work a little better, but it still wasn't perfect If I looked at it in the bright light, I could see at least 3 colors--the red layer on top was fairly visible and only a small amount of blue layer at the bottom could be seen. I couldn't see much yellow. (I admit that I didn't have any pure green dye, and I used blue and yellow to make the green dye). But, basically, under the bright lights, I could see a very distinct red layer on top, and then a greenish/grayish for nearly everything else...and a faint possibly bluer bottom layer...but not very distinct at all. I couldn't really see the yellow layer...it seemed to mix up. The main thing I could really see was a distinct red layer on top and then everything else was sort of a greenish/blackish/blue. So, I definitely saw two layers. For my experiment, the red had the 1 spoon of sugar, so was the least dense. The yellow had two spoons of sugar. The green had 3 spoons of sugar. And, the blue had 4 spoons of sugar. So, my experiment did not at all look as nice as the one in the video. But, I did see the least dense (i.e. the red-colored sugar water) rise to the top over the other liquid which was more dense.

One key is to use a narrow tube too. Too wide of a cup and it will diffuse faster.

Will it stay separated/layered through time? Also, if I wanted to add more of a color, say the bottom color, and poured it on top will it travel down to the heavier density level?

What color would you see if you looked downward into the jar vs looking through the jar where you can see all the separated colors? Would it be darkest brown or black or something else? Anyone know? Srs question.

Do these stay like this for a while or forever-ish? I made a mini lava lamp with oil, water and food coloring how ever after a while the food coloring became kind of muggy. I am not sure if that if it is because of the food coloring or the oil.
@sommerwelling64418 жыл бұрын
You said carefully- now If I add this to a bottle, and my son shakes it up- will it separate back into the density layers? Or will it be pretty well mixed at that point?

Which is better? Sugar density or liquid density? Like how long does the sugar density stay like that? And also what if I shake that bottle, it will going to be in one color? Not separating? Like in liquid density with different liquids idk if I shake it it will mixed together or not since it haa different types of liquid but thus sugar density it has the same liquid but with different density by adding sugar... Hope you will answer my question
@derpderpyface524610 жыл бұрын
And then you drink it once your done this also would be a cool drink if you added citric acid to it
