You saved my sanity and my son from killing me. We have a 10 foot awning (4 brackets, 3 panels). It came with lame instructions and none for securing it to siding. We put it together first, then tried to mark the holes by holding it up and marking the siding. It was horribly awkward and one end fell off despite my caulking the panels to each brace. We laughed a lot. But seriously, the panels aren't secure and easily come unseated. So we'll take your advice from another video and use caulk in the bracket channels to secure each panel. Our panels were cheap and came in 2 sections that were spliced together with a plastic bracket. Don't get those! The corrugated panels should all be one piece. I'm ditching the cheap panels and buying corrugated sheets from the hardware store. I've never used those anchors so thanks for showing how you installed them. Very good video!

You did well. I can not screw into the holes and did not grip into the wall. How can I fix it?
@AM-wh2fo5 жыл бұрын
Thankyou , for that. I am now just unsure how the princpal of the bolt works as it currenty stands the 10mm bolt just loosely slides in and out of the hole i drilled, therefore I am unure why the need to hammer in . Also since the bolt doesnt stick in the 10mm wise hole i am unsure how ot would tighten
@BitsPieces5 жыл бұрын
That's because, eventhough you have used the right drill size you have probably pulled it in and out to many times has you drilled and made the hole too big. Try putting a little bit of tape around the bolt fixing, to make it a little tighter when you put it in the drilled hole. And then tighten the bolts to fix the canopy to the wall..look at the video again, I do explain how the bolts work

No point, some canopies will come with different size bolts..but for this model the drill size was 10..thanks
@edlopez56613 жыл бұрын
I read your responses and found that you used a 10 mm bit for the hole. I'm assuming that the bracket screws should be snug with putting them in the hole in order for it to expand properly. Am I correct? In addition, what if you are attaching to a mobile home?
@BitsPieces3 жыл бұрын
Yea, but the bolts do expand in the drilled holes, if you find they are a little slack, you can use masking tape on them, to make a temporary snug fit, the tape will break once you start to tighten them up... regarding your other question, that's one thing you would have to work out for yourself, the bolts with these canopies are long, so I would presume they would be too long for your mobile home walls and would come through the thin walls. I would probably recommend not having one of these attached to your mobile home.
