There is anxiety that comes with These blood pressure tests, I used to donate plasma, and high blood pressure is always the thing that everybody was rejected for regardless of the history of hypertension or not.. The intake took 2-5 hours and everybody had high blood pressure because of stress of getting this far and being rejected for high blood pressure.. That stress has always stuck with me every time I go under one of these tests, I'm nervous to figure out if I'm going to be rejected because of my blood pressure and that might actually be causing the high blood pressure..

White coat syndrome is real!! I had a regular physical in January and my blood pressure was 150/100. My doctor gave me 3 months to get it down or he was putting me on meds. I worked my ass off and lost 50lbs in 3 months, went back and my blood pressure was 126/78, no meds! Fast forward 2 more months, down another 20lbs and went for my DOT physical on Friday…nervous as all hell and my blood pressure was 165/90. I was so disheartened. They let me lay down for 20 minutes and calm down….blood pressure was down to 135/85. I got my 2 year card but of course now I’m worried about my next card in 2 years…

Ive had a class a license since i was 19 now 31 i think ive had take the test every year and none of this was ever explained to me should there be a waiting period before i let them slap the thing on me since just walking around would raise it

If you’re a retired congressman, senator, or anyone who passes these laws for the working class, you can still have high blood pressure at age 80 and drive your Class A 26,000lb GVWR coach and pull a freaking giant trailer, with a regular drivers license. Imagine that!

For stage 3 if they get it down and certified for 6 months. At recertification they’ll get another 6 months. Is this forever ? What if 2nd recertification and their blood pressure is normal, do they get one year or 6 months. Also if they have history of stage 3 (but BP need normal for at least 2 years) can they get 2 years certification?

Took exam and had 143/94 bp, examiner disqualified me and said something about '3 months.' What is this three months about? I can't retake the physical test again for another 3 months? Also had protein and blood in my urine was disqualified for that too but why? Videos don't talk about this nor have I seen it as a dot requirement or issue.

What if you take 5-6 different blood pressure meds and your blood pressure is normal or slightly elevated? This is a real question, I’ve had blood pressure issues since grade school, I’ve been taking BP meds for so long that my body seems to stop responding to medications. I am diabetic. Also i have a heart condition called Atrial Fibrillation and take meds for that. I also have a spinal condition and take prescribed morphine. Do i have any chance at all in obtaining my health card?

Took my dot last year but I never completed my knowledge test exams, I don't have my CDL yet but they only approved me for one year, when it expires which is in a few months if my pressure is high, is my career over before it started?

What if I take bp meds sir but do not list them on the form before the physical, basically thats my choice rite ?? As long as my reading comes back I passed is all that matters ??!!

Hi I have taken the physical and failed about 4 months ago. Above 180/120. I'm on meds. I will have to have 140/90 below from here on out to pass rite. If so will I get 3 or 6 months recertification?

I have 3 month medical but when it expires and I have to re do my dot physical and if this time my blood pressure is better will my medical certificate extend to 1 year? My blood pressure was recorded 146/96 with medication taken

What if youre issued a 3 month cert for a reading of 171 and you come back after the 3 months and your reading is at 155. What happens then?

@ EasyDOTPhysicals I went last year and had stage 1 hypertensive and received a 1 yr cert. I just went back and it was still stage 1 and received a 3 month cert and have to see my dr. I don’t think your BP rages are updated reflecting the 2022 new rules. If don’t update your information on the year when the new rule comes, it will lead to wrong decision by the ME jeopardize the employee who drives CMV.

Okay I went to dot doctor blood pressure was 140 / 100 3 days later I went to my primary doctor 137 / 87 so my question is since I already turned in the paperwork to DMV for my 3 months can I get a second opinion dot doctor because I don't trust the first doctor a little sketchy but will DMV request me to go back to the same dot doctor even if I pass at the second dot doctor. YES! White Coat Syndrome is real. I detest going to doctors- scares the hell outta me. I guess I am afraid of what they might find. I am 58 years old, an Alaska LEO for 15 years. I am about 25 lbs over weight at the moment. I went to a residence at about 0200 to make an arrest and ended up fighting 3 dudes in the street by myself until BU arrived about 7-8 minutes later. I left with who I came for but the Chief directed me to go get looked at due to a couple injuries. They took my blood pressure and asked me why I wasn't dead.....😆 I was still amped up. I think it was 190 over 80 something...... It came down though. Then the same thing happened with another incident last year. So in short, I wanna be a truck driver again. It's how I actually started out in life before going into the Marines in 82. I'm studying the CDL handbook and taking the mock tests. I was failing at first, but now I'm passing all 6 versions with scores in the upper 90s. I have cut my Copenhagen habit in half now, and will continue to cut it until I quit completely. I have severely cut my salt intake and am taking magnesium and Super Beats. It has done wonders. I also increased my exercise, cardio specifically by rucking at least 35 lbs and doing cardio stuff with my ruck on.
