In this video, I will be showing you how to change your BIOS settings to boot from a USB device if for some reason you do not see your USB device in the list of possible boot devices, this is a common problem in the more recent pavilion series of Hp laptops.
To solve this problem, go to your BIOS using the required function key or ESC key, go to the system configuration tab and move down to boot options and hit enter. Then go to legacy support and change it to “enabled”.
Then using your arrow key goes down to your USB device under the UEFI boot order and uses the required function key to move the USB device to the top of the boot order, then use the F10 Key to save an exit.
Now you may see this DOS page asking you to enter a certain code and hit the enter key to complete the process, after that the Windows installation will start loading.

That solution puts the computer in "Compatibility mode" not true UEFI which some don't want. USB drives WILL boot on a HP laptop WITHOUT legacy mode enabled. I found your site as only SOME of my Kingston usb drives will show up on boot screen even though they were made with the same software (Rufus) and disk image. The only difference I can see is one of the drives is much newer (and won't work) and one is older. Both 16GB, both Kingston data traveler.

Secure boot in bios or uefi most it will in "security"->"secure boot" And new Notebook Or PC will call CSM Support As Legacy Support I know because i read information from the bios in the video.

Legacy support is only for OSes before Windows 8.1. For Windows 8.1/10 disable legacy support, all older OSes enable it

why do you set the boot order under UEFI when you are going to boot in Legacy mode? it seems like you would change the Legacy boot order when you are booting in Legacy mode.

Dear Sir. I don't have any option like that in my BIOS. it is old MSI MS-7125 K8N Neo4 motherboard. which I'm trying to turn in to Chromebox. I created Chrome OS USB, but I can't boot from USB. The only option I have is USB support and it is set to ON. From boot sequence I have USB Floppy drive but it is not working. Please help. Thank you.

Man I need to enable secure boot for windows 11 installation. When i enable it it says secure boot can't be enabled if pc is on legacy boot mode. When i change to UEFI mode i can't see USB storage device on that
