Thank you for your guidance. On January 2 I will celebrate 5 years of 100 lbs weight loss. I am 64 year old woman living in Ontario Canada. In 1977 I was in high school and taught this. I suffered weight issues most of my adult life. At 58 I finally learned how to eat for my health. It is so good to have found a medical professional that speaks the truth about this disease.

Folks, this works. I lost 36 pounds in 5 months in 2023 by cutting out processed foods, consuming low to slow carbs, massively increasing legumes and plant food consumption, with eating a reasonable amount of egg and lean protein most days. I also use intermittent fasting 14 to 18 hours 3 to 4 days per week only, with morning exercise 4 to 5 days per week. Nothing really crazy, it all worked together. Morning glucose down from pre-diabetic to normal. Cholesterol back in normal range.

Thank you for uploading, Dr Fung. I have been a supporter of yours for years. I lost approximately 140 lb and I have kept it off. I started at 330 (after being disabled and requiring numerous surgeries) and am now under 180. I am healthy and able to workout, bike, and most importantly do the things I want to do. My goal is in the area of 160 pounds depending how I feel when I get there. It could be more, it might be less. I have shared your videos and books with more people than I can count. Your work is saving lives. Refined carbohydrates, processed food, vegetable and seed oils, added sugars, this is what the majority of people eat in developed nations. As a result our health has degraded and the number of medications virtually everyone takes has increased. We have to turn this around and your work is helping increase awareness. I practice law and share your work with everyone whether it is relevant to the topic or not! If someone needs this information I try to make it available to them. A happy and healthier New Year to everyone

@@JohnsonNestorFamilyHi Jessica! We have commented to each other in the past. We're both women, probably similar age and we have both reclaimed our health! If you lived in the Seattle area we could be friends. I've been struggling a little over the holidays. That and world events have me under a lot of pressure. I might have had a little gelato (I shared a single scoop) last night when we went to dinner at a local steakhouse and I may have even had a drink! Still, it breaks keto. I think the key is to be kind to ourselves and when we do eat other things, to enjoy it and not beat ourselves up and then return to good habits the next day. Congratulations on your achievement, you're doing great and you will continue to. Have a wonderful New Year.

Getting all my carbs from squash or sweet potato and completely eliminating grain, sugar and processed food got me shredded faster than I thought was possible. Now eat 100% meat, fish, eggs, nuts, veg, and squash/sweet potato with a little goat/sheepsmilk cheese here and there. Diet + running every other day and a basic weight/calisthenics routine I have six-pack abs for the first time in my life and would be able to kick the ass of myself from 20 years ago 😂. My basic rule is if you wouldnt find it on an old fashioned family farm, or it has to go to an industrial facility for processing between the farm and the grocery store dont eat it. Just eating simple single ingredient whole foods has completely changed my physique and health and I can't imagine eating any other way now.

The first great thing that happened in my life was encountering my now wife Paula of 43 years. The second thing that happened in my life was the discovery of Dr. Fung. I'm type 2 diabetic for the last 25-30 years. I've gone through 3 medical doctors and they all did nothing for me in a significant way. I made a serious decision and put Dr. Fung's words to the test. As of June 2023 I was 260 lbs. and my A1C was 8.1. My specialist doctor prescribed 2 Metformin and 1 Glyburide twice a day. As of Dec 2023 I weighed 213 lbs. and my A1C stood at 6.4. and I'm only take meds as needed. On two occasions I fasted for 4 days at a time. I now experience less depression and my discomfort of hauling around my big gut has ceased. Everyone in my life see a dramatic difference in my mind and body. I stand as a testimony that all that I learned from Dr. Fung WORKS beyond belief. Thank you Dr. Fung!

Since 1 year I eat a big portion rice with fruits and a whey shake 2-3 hours before i go to bed..( I know it sounds crazy 😄) .. but since then I could sleep so well after the meal and when I wake up my stomach is flat.. i look good..feel so powerfull in the morning and burn the rest of the day a lot more energy as the the years before. Of course.. without any sport maybe this isn't the right way to eat. But it showed me.. all the theory about no carbs in the evening etc. Is bullsh** The rest of the day I eat mostly only meat..fish etc.

I started following Dr Fung's advice and lost 44 pounds. Unfortunately, I lapsed in my low carb IF habits and regained part of that weight. I'm back on track again and look forward to successful weight loss and just feeling so much better overall. I am glad to see new videos with Jason Fung. Need to watch, watch, and watch again to stay focused on my health.

Reduced refined carb consumption in our house. husband and I are both down a pant size and only since September. I find it fairly easy to IF ( not eating between 8pm at night and 10am or even noon) as long as I consume enough protein and fat. Following the food pyramid I was never able to lose weight. Very thankful to find people in the Keto and carnivore space. Wishing everyone a healthy new year!🎊🎊

At 57 years old I am living my healthiest life! I started IF in 2017 when I came across Dr Fung. I have never been overweight, but had terrible gut issues and my mental health suffered terribly. I eat high fat, high protein and minimal carbs. My weight has been around 116-119 lbs for 6.5 years. Dr Fung you are a legend!! 🤩

Hi Debbie, 59 year old woman here. I quit smoking cold Turkey 3 months ago to better the Afib, which has worked well till now. I gained 7 kgs and was diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes and now have about 25 kg total to loose to get to a healthy weight. I have just started IF, adding extra leafy greens for fibre gives me terrible diarrhea. I am very sensitive gut wise. How did you do this and are these leafy greens a must to counter the insulin resistance and lose weight on IF? I'd appreciate your input? Tx. Caroline

Thanks Dr. Fung! Read 4 of your books this last month, and been watching you for the last 1 year since I had heart attack. Lost 88 pounds (now I'm 150 pounds for 183 cm guy), in 7 months cured my diabetes type 2 (from A1C at the hospital at the time of the heart attack 10.4, to now 4.02 in only 7 months and keep maintaining it there), cured my "essential" hypertension (without pills), and got rid of a tumor in my right side temple of 19 x 25 mm which I had for the last 4 years praying it won't turn to a malignant one (disappeared right after my second 5 day water fast, I guess autophagy did the job). Right after hospital I started keto diet, intermittent fasting, and on the 7th month I introduced extended fasts (10 days being the longest one I did so far) and keep practicing them for 48 to more hours once or twice a week or every next week. Never felt better in my life! I'm now light, enduring, quick, sharp etc. Dropped the statins 3 months after hospital. My morning insulin is typically around 3 but since I begun one meal a day 3 months ago, it is even 2.6 and two months now to 1.6. Thank you so much!! Can't really repay you for the rest of my life. Thanks to all the youtube doctors like you in the low carb high fat fasting community! God bless all of you!! Love you! Be healthy, happy and prosperous! For over a year I've watched tons of videos like this one from you and other likeminded doctors, and read 10 books so far in the last 2 months (from you, Ben Bickman, William Davis, Malcolm Kendrick, Mark Hyman, Bruce Lipton etc and keep reading more. I love reading and keep piling books at the que. Currently have 5 more books on the subjects waiting to finish the current one I read). For over 7-8 months I started writing on social media about my experience and the knowledge I accumulate. I've become influential for many people and they chose to embark on the same health path. I'm also influential to the people in "real" life who know me - friends and family members. My brother and his wife are long time diabetics type 2 and heavily obese, they now chose to follow my guides and started reading 3 of your books I bought them for Christmas presents.

@@tryingToBeHealthy I'm 51. I try to eat around 40 carbs net but don't count them as much. I do it more by the look of the things because I've been in fitness and bodybuilding for 25 years and already knew foods and their content. Probably I have days with less than 40 grams and days with 50-60 or a bit higher. However, right after the hospital I immediately stopped eating anything with or from flour and anything with or from sugar - absolute zero, no matter if it's breads and stuff or dishes containing them. The effect was immediate - 1 - 1.5 kg per week every week. I lost 28 kg only in the first 6 months and I was not yet fully keto while still learning and finding out about it and the intermittent fasting. By then, I was still eating at least 3 apples a day, but while I was learning more about keto I stopped eating all fruits and since then I only eat a fruit very rarely. Then, on the sixth month after the hospital I started doing extended fasts as well. But I too was amazed how effortlessly and continuously I was loosing weight week after week and so were those around me. I keep record in a book week by week and still recording in it every Saturday morning my weight and waste line. Helps me keep on track. I can't tell you how happy I am and how good and positive I feel about myself with this amazing transformation. I'm forever grateful to Dr. Fung and others like him whom I watch and read. If you can, I highly recommend you to read his books, they are on another level compared to the videos.

@@stefanogilermo8261 Thank for the details. I don't want to be on keto, its hard for me, I just need to lose weight and I am loosing, and unsure how many max carbs I needed to lose weight. When you had heart attack, what was your eating pattern before ? How were your HDL and LDL levels?

@@tryingToBeHealthy I was eating like pig for the last 2 years prior to the hear attack. Mostly highly refined foods and carbs. But I was already diabetic but didn't know it because for many years I was eating every 3 hours + 4 protein shakes a day and lots of carbs. My cholesterols were fine in the hospital but you know most doctors are ignorant about cholesterol and scared, they put me on statins which I rejected on the 4th month after due to their side effects. It's not about the numbers, it's about their relation to one another that's important, and the specific type - whether or not they are oxidized - and most labs don't measure them.

@@stefanogilermo8261 thanks for additional info, this helps. I am taking rosuvastatin 5 mg for 2 years and now 10 mg since I am obese and my hs-crp is 7.75. My HDL is 30 for few years now and it did not go up, other numbers are in limit. I am 42 with no family history , with IF lost 8 lbs in 5 weeks, I am scared, I have small kid. I do take 30 mins 3 times a week exercise that I just started. I have quit processed food and was not consuming much of them before 1-2 times a week. This summer had a blast for 3 weeks, unlimited processed food, someone came to visit me from home country and then quit that . Now I use minimally processed foods, chicken, fish, vegetable salad and fruits, I am scared - there are lot of advises. I am not trying keto, I am not trying carnivore, Just minimizing carbs and eliminating processed carbs with being more active, will it help?
