In this video i got a kit of ebay to regas my air con and hopefully fix it
Re-gassing your vehicle aircon system is no longer difficult - with this fantastic system almost anyone can replace the air conditioning gas and get back peak performance and freshness. It connects simply to the low pressure air con port of the vehicle making it ideal for DIY use. The product does not fall within the scope of the F Gas regulations - the gas is not R134a. Instead it is a compatible product that can be added directly to vehicles previously filled with R134a . Most cars manufactured after 1994 were filled with R134a from new so our system is compatible with a huge range of official and unoffically imported vehicles. We list cars that are older than 1994 - some were R134a filled and some were R12 so if you are buying for a vehicle older than 1994 please check to make sure your particular example is running on R134a either from the factory or having being retro converted (most have been by now). This Kit also contains a can of Leakstopper Product 3.95oz / 112g Custom Hydrocarbon Refill (equivalent to 300g of R134a) which should be used first to recondition seals and attempt repair of small leaks.

One thing that is of concern with this stuff is that it's highly flammable ("proper" refrigerant isn't) - probably of no significance to the majority of people, but in the event of an accident - if the aircon system is ruptured - ther's the potential for the leaking gas to start a fire... Also, you should have purged the gas line before attaching it to the vehicle, as you will have injected moist air into your system too, which isn't a good thing!

There are 12 gallons of a highly flammable substance somewhere else in the car.

@@sportshatch If it's a diesel car or truck, it's not that flammable, and in either case it's not a gas under high pressure in a system that's likely to be ruptured and discharge freezing cold gas over you, which then has the potential to explode into a fireball. And my point really was that it's not proper to suggest people copy something that one advises, without explaining to them of its potential to cause an otherwise survivable accident to turn into a fatal one. Anyone who is made aware of the additional risk, and chooses to use the flammable gas, at least had the information supplied to make an informed choice, and decide whether the additional risk is worth saving a relatively modest amount of cash for...

Bought this kit today for my ep3 type r. About a year ago I paid 60 to garage to regas the ac it was empty,next day and was not even cold it was empty again and was told I would have to pay to gas again and dye and go from there.i give up at that point and so 1 year later I bought this kit and all done in 20 mins now my ac is ice cold lol.

@@cozifpv2069 I used the kit stop leak and gas.it lasted about 2 weeks.I ended up changing the condenser and filled at garage.works fine now

I bought this same kit last month but sadly it must have leaked out again as it's no longer cold. Just got the STP leak sealant kit which claims to fix holes in metal as well as gaskets, so we will see how that works out.

I used a local mobile Aircon guy. He vacuums out the system first and that will indicate if you have a leak and how bad it is. He then added the pag oil to lubricate the system and seals and then added just under the correct amount of gas. He told me I have a slight leak and where to get a good leak sealer to add myself. Added it myself and fixed it for 3 years before I sold the car.

@@GHasRandoms once the top up can has been punctured can it be closed and stored if not all is used?

sangetube if you get the kit put the leak stop in first then the top up as you can use the tap to close it and save for later but the gage need to stay on the can. If you remove it it will all gas out

Turning the tap clockwise just pierces the can,to allow the seal/refrigerant through you have to turn it back.Also I think its cheaper to buy stp super seal

simon Smith at the time I was looking it was over £30 for the stp stop seal with the adapter then another £50 for the refill. May be cheaper now but at the time this was the cheapest I could find

My one had a slow leak and lasted about a year. Price have gone up on these now I think. Look out for deals from air con companies and they can tell you if you have a leak and top up for a good price especially now just before the weather gets hot

@Bercilak de hautdesert it has about a 3% leak rate each year on most vehicles. Ac requires topping up and maintaining every 2-3 yrs as all dealerships will say

You’ve a leak then if your bothered get a UV leak kit for the AC and you’ll find it, if you aren’t buy a 3in1 Refrigerant can with oil, sealant and refrigerant

So my van has a slight leak so ordered this kit, does the gauge show when you have put enough in? IE is there a danger of over gassing and damaging the unit?

I did this video a few years ago but if I remember correctly you need to keep in the blue zone but there should be instructions that come with the item.

My kits just arrived. The first can you used (the stop leak) does that also have refigerant in there or is it purely a stop leak product? I'm thinking I might need more refigerant because my 5 series is just warm air now. (I know there's a leak and no other probs because I've had it topped up twice in last 3 years after having some work done to the car ... it's nice and cold but then gradually gets warm again after about 12 months) so I've ordered another can of refrigerant for only approx £5 from Ali express. (I'm in no rush for this one) .. should hopefully arrive by next summer 😂

No, they won’t. The STP gauge has a trigger like a standard aerosol to dispense it. The cans have a valve on top so you can remove the can and the gas will not leak out. These cans in the video get punctured and you have to empty the can put in one go.
