I have one of these too because I was actually travelling in Japan when the PS2 came out and got one on release day. I have many PS2s.

Bro the PS2 has a really beautiful design, specially the slim (should be called slick) but even the fat model looks modern after 2.5 decades, when you place it on a vertical stand it looks like a big cyberpunk skyscraper. The ps4 even looks like an earlier version or a production model xD

I remember back in the day, it was either in an N64 magazine or Dreamcast magazine, they said they thought the PS2 is ugly. I think they were just being biased though, it seemed they hated everything about the PS2 just because they saw it as the 'rival' and it was way more successful. I personally think it looks really cool, probably my most favourite looking Sony console. Especially in the clear blue shell that I ended up putting it in.

@@RPKGameVids Yes, that aqua blue ps2 is probably the most beautiful console I´ve ever seen. I didn't know it existed until a few years ago, and when I saw it, I fell in love with it, lol. I'm not sure if you're referring to the Aqua Blue or the translucent dark blue one, both are very eye-catching, but the Aqua Blue is truly very elegant. And I'm not being biased cause I didn't own a ps2 back then.

It's cool that you have a Japanese NTSC PlayStation 2! But it's strange how the original PlayStation 2 consoles models have slightly different shapes that make it possible or impossible for it in your clear PS2 shell. If you want a perfect language barrier free import game experience in Europe, I'd strongly recommend importing a North American NTSC PlayStation 2 from the United States or Canada next, along with the following North American NTSC exclusive PS1 and PS2 games: *101 Dalmatians II: Patch's London Adventure *IHRA Drag Racing *IHRA Drag Racing 2 *IHRA Drag Racing: Sportsman Edition *NASCAR Heat 2002 *NASCAR Thunder 2002 *NASCAR Thunder 2003 How does that sound? For you, it would make a great new year resolution for 2020. In the meantime, have fun playing Japanese NTSC PS1 and PS2 games over there in the United Kingdom! Oh, and Merry Christmas!

If you want to get some JPN only games, I recommend you get Poinie's Poin, a game that, for a JPN only game, actually has English as a selectable text and spoken language, which is pretty rare for a game released only in Japan.

Loved watching this video! Subscribed. I am hoping that my Ocean Blue Japan import PS2 comes soon. Ordered the console only as I had 2 controllers from a bootsale haha. Looking forward to the plans I got for it

@@RPKGameVids Yeah just seen the video. Stunning looking console. For my Jap PS2 I am looking to installing the BB navigator on the console and running it stock. But putting a chip in so I can play my PAL region games on it. I got an original Sony HDD to use in it :D But I am unsure and still debating using FreeHDBoot and installing a bigger HDD! So I am not to sure on what my offical plan is for the PS2 yet :P

You have a uncommom ps2 console because you would have to get a rare external hard drive that connects to the pc port. Kudos to you dude.

hey you have a pretty rare ps2! you can put the japanese hard drive expansion, which is very rare to work with certain ps2’s! so you can use a external hard drive!, and a network adapter

I didn't know there was an external hard drive for it. I've just got done transplanting the insides into a rare 3rd party clear blue shell. I may have the video up by tomorrow.

The original japanese ps2 didn't have a way to attach a network adapter since Sony made them until the ps2 released internationally

@@radicalthunder5740 the original Japanese ps2 had a way to connect to the network and had their own version of the network adapter which went in the pcmcia slot in the rear, which is also used to connect the external hard drive
