*Definitely big battery=Range anxiety solved! For the money this is a really good deal, This is a really good bike for beginners and avid riders my opinion, I’ve got aprox 4500 miles on my bike (not this bike) so I believe I know a little bit about things, you can always get another set of better forks if it bothers you, I believe you can put bigger springs in them, most bike seats aren’t good, again just get a really comfortable seat, brakes you can adjust or just buy a hydraulic set less than $100, these are things your probably going to change on most any ebike from my experience, in this price range your getting a very nice head start for this price point, most ebikes you can go into settings and turn speed limit off and change settings. Hope this helps and I don’t get paid to write this, l’m just trying to give a little insight*

I ride a Sun EZ-Tandem with a 1Kw front hub motor and 2 48v/20Ah batteries (in parallel). The rig weighs in at 125 LBS and will drag my ass about 50-60 miles, throttle only. Those 2 batteries are in rear loading rear rack configuration, and weigh about 15 LBS each. I'd love to hear how they shoved 60Ah into 20 LBS of battery.

Most people don't need it, but I personally am looking for this sort of range. I live about 90 miles from my mother, with about 1000 ft of elevation total, and of course having some range left when I get there would make me feel better as the battery ages and just to get things done. I am glad this exists, I can't wait to see when batteries get lighter, and perhaps the bikes too.

This is the future here now. We need true long range ebike. I would like to see a step thru commuter e bike with rear rack to place two big pannier bags. 26 inch wheels, front & rear suspension. low step thru with about 11 inch clearance to step thru and to be able to handle weight, at least 450 lbs. Like the lectric xpedition. I would certainly consider one of those. In the meantime I've made my own. 🙂 73 AH battery. Some of the parts purchased from Area 13. Thanks for the Great Video!

I have had this bike for 4 months. Motor went bad after 49 miles. Found out many had the same motor problem. Aniioki sent a new motor and so far so good (Doubt it will last long). The range is 70 to 80 miles for me no pedaling without pushing the battery to low. There are a number of issues with this bike. Be sure to check all the screws to make sure they are tight. Check the rear brake. My rear brake and my friend's (He has the same bike) had spacers that had only 1/3 of the pads engaging the rotor (Dangerous).

Well I'm surprised and at that price it would do very well in the UK. It's a real game changer bike, it means no more running out of battery when you need to go on longer trips, it's not only a city bike it's a country side bike. Unfortunately such bikes in the UK would be classed as mopeds which means they probably wouldn't be able to sell them at that price in the UK and would have to under go a lot more testing which costs a lot more money which in turn would mean they would end up costing a lot more money to the consumer. So though it's a great bike the laws in the UK would be prohibitive. And there you have folks there are great cheap bikes with lots of power and range, but govt keeps them on the banned lists. So much for UK govt wanting us to go low carbon.

Have you tried any long 10 to 20 mile paved up mountain climbs? How has the Wired Freedom performed going up a 4000 ft vertical climb. Does the hub motor without a torque sensor lose speed on a long 15 mi 4000 ft climb? How is the battery range lowered by such a climb. I am very interested in the Freedom or cruiser step thru version. But have never seen any video or review showing such long steep climbs. Everything I find is about max speed 40mph on flats or short 1 mi climbs.

My biggest concerns would be tires, brakes, battery. I wouldn't do a range test without being confident in how I'd come back if it doesn't get me all the way back. A flat tire would be worse to deal with, since I cannot pedal with that. Are there high puncture / low roll resistant tires for this?

Not an overkill at all. Those 11Ah, 15Ah, 20Ah are toys. This 60Ah is finally something useful. When I ride within my town I can go with simple "muscle" bike, don't even need an electric. I need an electric to regularly visit my sister in the next town, some 40 miles away. And I need enough juice to get back home in the afternoon. So, the 48V 60Ah is Just Right.

Needed out the box mods for me doing mostly street riding with some groomed dirt paths: 1). Install street tires for a smoother ride, less roll resistance, and even more miles. 2). Rear view mirrors. 3). Bigger rotors 4). Make a small easy removable clear chest windscreen for road protection and even less resistance. (Product Idea that does not exist- anyone?)

I had that with my Ecotric. If I stayed mostly pas 4 17.5-19 mph I can go 26-30 miles that’s with pedaling but not much effort. That wasn’t enough for me so I added a 20 AH rear rack type battery. That gives me 45-53 miles. So I made my entry level 36v 26” fat tire bike into a long range now. No fancy electronics , just an on off on toggle to go from one bat to another.
@Altema22
@Altema22 Жыл бұрын
For that price, I would expect to be buying a battery with the bike as a bonus! Is it overkill? Depends on your needs. I did a group ride with gas mopeds, and the requirement was "at least 30mph for at lest 60 miles", and this would have been great for that, if it has the speed. What I usually find though, is the extra weight is a burden. I use the modular approach and have 5 batteries of varying weight and capacity, and although I can run with four batteries at the same time (73.3Ah!), the weight just makes it feel like a pig. When I did the ride mentioned above, I used 3 batteries to keep weight down, and the 53.3Ah was enough for the whole trip. For slow group rides though, I'll use a single 20Ah battery for the 15 mile trip, and finish with it at 98%.

This bike is actually very efficient despite its weight. I've ridden an electric scooter from full to empty that's 72v 35ah, so that's 2520Wh, about 87.5% the capacity of this bike, their curb weights are nearly identical. I got 86.3km, so around 54 miles. So getting 100 miles on this bike is very impressive. I think it could be that this bike is relatively lower powered, and the rider was going slow, and I'm probably heavier than the rider too. Never the less, it's a really nice and efficient machine.

The bike is not going to win any beauty contest. But the price is good, the weight rating is good enough for a decent cargo bike I would think. But with what they are rating the distance at, I could commute a140 miles to work an 8 hour job and should be able to commute back to where I live which would take me around 2hrs to drive at 75mph. I would say for a normal commute, or to run to town to get grocery's with a trailer behind the bike it would still be a bit over kill as that would be a 10 mile round trip for me. If I was to use it for my part time delivery job, then I would say it would probably be about right for a bike and trailer combo. As I can cover a hundred miles a day, just delivering food to people with my part time job. And that bike would let me do that with no problems, so yeah I would say it is just right.

I bought my mom a lectric xp 3.0, Talk about buyers remorse, omg this 3.0 has been the worst purchase over a 1000$ on anything I ever bought in my life, I had a 500$ swagtron eb5 pro, that was faster, better range, I got low range model, but I've had to replace the wire harness, replaced the controller, now I got replace the recalled brakes, got replace the recalled front rim, I had do all this work on my own, iam devastated, I feel like I got robbed, and lectric will only replace each piece as it breaks, the bike was shutting off completely every time I hit a bump, It wouldn't go over 15 mph, I thought it was fixed with new harness, but it just shut off for no reason other day, the brakes are the worst junk I've ever seen, the front cable or something snapped yesterday, rendering the front brake totally broken, glad my mom wasn't on it, now I got replace the brakes with hydraulic that lectric sent me after months long wait, I got more time working on bike than riding it, Now got replace front rim bearings are defective, recalled, It only gets 12 miles range if iam lucky, I want sell it but would not feel comfortable selling it and have someone come back mad at me, I asked lectric send me new bike they refused, the lady actually had nerve telling me I should expect to have to put some work into something that's electrical, I've replace almost whole bike and still have issues with it shutting off for no reason, it is very slow, slower than my old 350 watt swagtron eb5 pro, I just can't believe lectric put out such a piece off junk, I feel like I got robbed!! Definitely stay away from them!!!

I own one, can't recommend. Maybe I got a lemon, but I didn't get the distance. Motor is making weird noises. Warning motor needs to be checked and greased right out of the box, maybe why weird noises now since I didn't check right out of box and just rode it 100mile. Tires multiple flats right away until I upgraded tires (rides way better with new tires). Rear tire major pain to get off, chain and brake need to be removed to get off tire. Cruise control nice, but flakey, sometimes 1min before engaging, few times engaged after a little boost in parking lot and had to hit brake quickly. 26amp draw full power. lvl 3 pulls about 12amp at 19mph, best speed for distance/time in my opinion. At 300 miles now, will ride till it dies and get something better. Does ride nice though, but front shocks are crap.

The real question is, is it UL certified? Or will it burn your house down while you sleep?

I don't have a license so I ride my e-bikes and use it as if the car it would be awesome to have a 60 amp hour battery or even 2. 30 amp hour batteries my average daily commute is 35 to 45 miles. The bike I ride has a 20 amp hour battery I get about 30 miles per charge but I also have a fast charger that recharges battery in an hour and a half pretty much works out where I go to where I need to go charge the bike go back home charge the bike again 4 the next day

why not make battery size an option and offer several different sizes that are washable depending on task at hand for each ride

Yes, I believe most bikes, you are paying for only the looks not to performance for example the super 73rx

I was waiting for a review like this for a while now. I really like these bikes (this one and the A8 also). Somehow this company managed to put a decent price tag with quality key components and pick an unimpressively unmemorizable name. I'd say that's still fine.

More for us :D But yeah I'd like more people to stop thinking $1900 is good for a 15Ah "long range" battery.

That's a pretty hairy ride around Lake Tahoe to be testing an e-bike on. There is no bike lane on the east side to speak of and traffic flies along the one lane each way parts. Then you hit the residential on the Westside and everybody wants to pull out in front of you. Live up that area and I used to ride my motorcycle around the lake every now and then and I would not do it on an e-bike, any bicycle for that matter. The chances of someone hitting you from behind are pretty high on a bicycle. If you're going to do it, do it in the morning, during the week and especially not during the tourist summer months. LOL. You could do it during the middle of the night but then you might centerpunch a bear.

I would call this an electric moped , not an e- bike. This is more appropriate for folks who NEED the extra range, as the battery only lasts about 3 to 4 years and costs more than $850.

My biggest stopping point for that bike is the battery is not UL certified or even listed. That's alot of batteries to go up in flame if it does.
