First, I want it to be clear I 'get' that this panel was being welcoming, hospitable, and didn't bring their guest on to attack them. And it was fun teasing them all about how Karen Louise did an intentional 'driveby' and still had them all somewhat being apologists for her (to get her back). 'Buy the Book' was almost like "Shut up and Dribble". But I was seriously taken aback by, RBG Geechee and Crew, that there weren't any videos or mention of the escalation of the Kenyan Uprising, fires, and historic parliament takeover.

Slutty Vegan American Sesh is soooooooo problematic and concerning.......... I know #EYL delves into this all the time.....but the focus on INDIVIDUALIZED solutions and self-focused, messianic-like, and self-aggrandazing approaches is VERY troublesome. And then to quote Diallo, peddling this prosperity politics with church-like energy serves to create more of this thinking..... Scary and sad!
@anji_j
@anji_j 4 күн бұрын
I believe the point Geechee was making is that Slutty Vegan is just another promotional entrepreneur type that our people need to condemn. This was just one of several grifters they show every week. They are just presented to have the panel discuss what their grift is and how we can make ourselves aware of how insidious and misleading their plans and programs are for the people.

@@anji_jTrue dat. I definitely agree with his intent. I think the authors are middle of the road-ish...so I don't think his question would've garnered a more radical conclusion...

Book might be interesting; the guests were neither interested nor interesting. I was curious what Ebony had to say, but I mostly heard Story. Story evaded direct questions and refused to draw conclusions after three years of research. Why push the statistic if you've nothing new to conclude?

From what I understand about Co-ops. They are supposed to get folks used to the process of doing business collectively and democratically. A small step toward socialism.

Yeah I love co-ops because it's a good compromise between socialism and capitalism and it doesn't rock the boat that much there's a bunch of co-ops in Germany they're very successful

......and if we addressed the structural issues that cause people to not have enough food and pampers.....then we wouldn't need foundations or entrepreneurs to do these band-aid, performative charitable gestures. Sigh.

Socialist reconstruction offers a lot of good policy solutions if you inted to keep the capitalist model going in a social democratic type of way. Nothing in there really requires socialism proper nor does it really get us any closer to it. The policy in that book though would if implemented be great for large parts of the population but if we want socialism I don't think the method in that book is going to get us there; it will get us to be more like the Nordic countries though.
