My first video on Electronics Tutorials. First, building an Electronic Workbench for all my electronics projects and tutorials. Having a proper Electronics Workbench is very essential when learning Electronics, hands on in designing, building and testing the circuit while following learning materials or KZfaq video tutorials. Most of us doesn't have the privilege to work on electronics industry as an Electronics Engineer or Electronics Technician because of lack of experience. Having an Electronics Workbench with proper instruments you can train yourself on Electronics to lend a better job or just for your Electronics Hobby. Here I will show you how to build a self contained free-standing Electronics Workbench and how to maximize your working space while still be able to access most of your equipment. On later videos, I will show you how to write your own software application interface to control the equipment and turn the computer into a powerful centralize control system to control the power supply, electronic load, arbitrary function generator, oscilloscope, RF signal generator or multimeter. I'm sure you will be interested to see more video. Please do subscribe.

Thanks! There will be a USB PC controlled multimeter will be installed behind the computer which will be connected to a patch panel on the bottom LHS. All the RF input and output, multimeter, speaker and audio input, USB to PC will be mounted on this panel. I will write a software GUI to control the RF generator and multimeter through the PC. There is also a GPIB HP 60V 10A programmable power supply and 600W Electronic Load output are wired into a patch panel on the botton RHS which is also computer controlled. All the large equipment will be placed on the top shelf to free up the bench mainly for repair and prototype. All those equipment on the top shelf are PC controlled. So I will be using the PC as central control for most of the large and bulky equipment. I will share the programming code written in LabVIEW. Thanks for subscribing and I will see you on my future videos.

Thanks for watching. Yes, to have a proper electronics workbench is very essential to work on any electronic projects. The all-in-1 i5 computer with swing arm is really handy especially when browsing other KZfaq channels, looking for datasets and interfacing with equipments and arduino projects. Lots of things you can do with it.

Yes the bench or table is very solid with 50mm x 50mm steel frame supported with double steel beam underneath. The bench or table was made of 1-1/2 inch thick chipboard with laminate. In my future videos power supply and dc electronic load will be placed on the top shelf and connection would be routed through front panel terminal on the bench for easy access and I will be writing software to remotely control the equipment through PC GPIB and USB interface. There will be more interesting stuffs we are doing. Cheers and thanks for watching this channel. Please share. Thanks. ECErcuit.

Love your design, thanks for sharing! Perhaps I missed it, but did you share the final inside dimensions (H,L,W) after build? One of my biggest challenges (and I'm sure others have as well) is making a space large enough to hold all of our stuff. I like your design, but I need to know if I have enough room in my space for a similar build.

Great video Mon Ami , I see you have my Aussie buddy EEV on the screen ..... I will using door blanks that are used in commercial buildings , no holes are drilled in them for the knobs and locks , I can get them cheap as they are scratched and have minor damage... I need at least 3 foot X 8 foot because of my O-scope and other older test equipment that is bigger than the new equipment nowadays.... My last workbench was the same and I had shelving also...

Thanks. Just purchased more equipment for my workbench and future videos. 30V 10A Power Supply, 500W Electronics Load, 10kHz to 2GHz Signal Generator, 60V 10A power supply, USB multimeter. All those addition equipment will be placed on the top of the shelve and all ports connected through the front interface on the front left and right side of the computer with N-type, Binding Post, RCA, Voltage/Current meter display and speaker terminals. All equipment have USB and GPIB ports which will be remotely controlled through computer GUI interface that I'm going to write/program using LabVIEW. I still have access to most equipment while free up the bench for Electronics projects. Thanks for the thought.

It looked bowed. You didn’t clamp a level to both ends did you?
@ecercuit
@ecercuit Жыл бұрын
Yes, it was on the beginning after joining the two woods. I used only the strap to clamp, and because of the tension on one end, it tends to bow the joint panel. After cutting, I placed it against the table and clamped the middle with long blue steel bar against the white table, strapping both ends with tension strap through the bottom side of the table while keep spraying with water and dried for a day while keep releasing the clamp to check if still bow. After I was sure that it's pretty much flat and straight, I braced the back with three wooden plank support (screwed and glued). You're the first one who notice it. I was hoping no one will notice the bow and might think due to camera. Anyway, thanks a lot for watching the video and hope you appreciate the effort. Please subscribe. Cheers, ECErcuit.

Pretty much between around $1k just for the workbench plus new electronics kit and test equipment. I advice to everyone who want's to be on the electronics industries but don't have the luck because of lack of experience and expertise, then you must start by investing a lab workbench and home lab test equipment. Start teaching yourself to gain the expertise e.g. schematic and PCB design, Python, Arduino, C, C++, RF, Analog and Digital Design, etc. Here, let's start our journey.

As much effort as you've put into this workbench, it is down right awful. You literally just built a giant box with a monitor and part boxes inside. There is no room for tools, there is no ventilation, barely enough room for a soldering iron and a scope. And because it's in a box, you will be breathing in all those fumes. You would be better off just using a normal open-air desk or table. What were you thinking?
@ecercuit
@ecercuit Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and for the comment. It's very challenging to have access to most of the tools and test equipments while maximising the working space with front multipurpose all-in1 monitor/computer and handy parts drawers. On my future videos I will show and demonstrate how possible to have most of the tools and test equipment within arm reach. Fume ventilation and extraction also been considered before building the workbench. Hope to see you on my future videos to find the answers. Thanks. ECErcuit.
