I do not routinely comment on KZfaq videos, but I am compelled to comment there to THANK YOU for finally solving what has been driving me absolutely crazy for the last 3 weeks. I fully rebuilt / replaced the carb and engine coil on my 13 year old PB-250. Started great, but bogged endlessly and never had consistent power. THEN is just started dying whenever I hit the throttle. I had this thing apart more times that J.Lo has been divorced, and as of yesterday was ready to throw in the towel and buy a new one. I found this video in a last ditch effort to save her, and within about 75 seconds, it's running like BRAND NEW again. Why was there no mention of this small set screw in ANY of the Carb instructions or Carb replacement videos??? Thank you for saving me hundreds of dollars and saving my perfectly good blower from a landfill!

Dude. I was extremely skeptical. I followed your instructions exactly and every single thing you said was true. The plastic plug came right out to my surprise. I turned the screw to the left and it ran like a top. Thanks so much. Saved me a trip to the small engine repair shop.

I was looking for a lightweight blower for my deck. kzfaq.infoUgkxgioZQl3J5wPGAeDINzbieKbT5qomSEx3 There are some huge trees around my house and the leaves and pods drop all over my deck. Having to move furniture around to sweep has become too big a chore. This blower was the answer. It is light enough for this 70yr old lady and powerful enough to blow all the tree droppings off my rather large deck. Thank you B&D. Be aware the cord is not included. I use a 3 prong outdoor cord 25' cord for my 12' x 20' deck. The cord retainer works very well, but don't try to pass the plug through it. That is NOT how it works. You just have to loop the cord and it works great. One of my best purchases. Very happy.

Thank you for the great tip/procedure! Also, for anyone who does not have the right tools: I didn't have the right size punch but a 5/64" allen wrench heated with a cig lighter worked well.

I see that your video was posted up 5 years ago. Today, it really did help me. My echo had been doing the same thing and that's because I had just picked it up from a repair shop. The man that repaired it, told me that the leaf blower was just too old. He had replaced carburetor, but the issue was bogging down. Because he had already replaced the carburetor, the rubber piece you use to heat up wasn't there making my repair extremely easy. I followed your instructions while pressing the trigger and wow, the leaf blower runs like new. Thank you so much for this video

Thanks a million! My pb255 hasn’t run in a year. I’d replaced all seals, gaskets, bulb, lines, filters, spark plug and it wouldnt fill the primer bulb in 2019 but after all that it still wouldn’t run. Out of utter necessity I decided to give it another try again today. The primer bulb wouldn’t fill so the blower would only run for a short spurt and then shut off. I had the fuel lines to the carb backwards!Fixed that, it would run but would bog under load like your video shows. Thank goodness I found your video! I used the torch method to remove the black plug as you showed. Used the end of a small broken piece of a needle file I had laying around. I leaned out the mixture screw by turning counter clockwise just until it would run smooth at high rpm, not bog, had good transient throttle response and didnt smell dry, run too hot or sound like it was running lean. Kudos to you! This video got my tool up and running again. Many thanks. 🙏

GREAT JOB! Same thing happened to me. Son tried to start the blower without the switch tuned to "ON" position so when I started the blower it almost sounded like a fouled plug. Replaced plug and same thing. Almost went to the Depot and picked up a new one but decided to google the problem and low and behold, I found you. The tip about putting a heated punch in the plastic plug is AWESOME. I don't think I would have been able to pull it out and adjust the carb without this tip.

Worked like a charm. I used a lighter and an Allen wrench that fit the hole in the plug. My blower works the way it should now. I used to take the filter out to make it to run at full throttle. That blower was a problem from the day I bought it. I usually could run it for one tank of gas but once I refilled it the thing would bog down soon after. So thanks for the fix.

BRILLIANT. We have two of these in the family and both run too lean. They always start right up fine when it’s cold. BUTTT😡 then I have to play 1/4 choke games for 20 seconds to keep it running or it dies. Then it will finally run full throttle . Trouble is both of them are obviously not running anywhere near what should be full throttle ever. I can’t wait to give this a try. Thanks a million!!

@@JLPicard440 I have gone at least twice with the same issue and they gladly keep taking my money. Funny thing is that they have already removed the black security cap on the adjustment screw to simply do what you showed here. Thanks again.

My leaf blower has been bogging like this nearly since the day I bought it and got it out of the box. Thank you for making this video. By the way, a hook pick will pull that plug out too.

Used a 3/32 punch (slightly round at the end is all I could find) and my cigar lighter, warmed the end of the punch up, and stuck the punch in the plastic whole, small sizzle and smoke, and after 2 minutes pulled that sucker out like a charm...Thank you! Now just waiting on the replacement coil to install to start my Echo PB 250 LN up again, and use a small screwdriver to adjust the carb.

Worked perfectly. I can now resume being the mad blower! I found a coarse screw turned into plastic cap worked as a puller, no problem. I think the screw vibrates out of tune with use as I needed to re-adjust every few blows.
@JLPicard440
@JLPicard440 4 жыл бұрын
Yes that'll work great.. and you could be right about the vibration.. You could take that screw completely out and put a drop of lock tight on the threads, screw it back in and adjust it properly, then it should stay.. But then you'll have a hard time adjusting it again if atmospheric changes causes it to need adjusted again, so I don't really recommend it, but it's an idea.
